My goodness.... Well, this game is simply amazing. It has everything; sleek, refined graphics, generally improved game play, a multitude of awesome weapons, an incredible storyline, excellent voice acting,......... Truly, the list just goes on and on. This finale to the triumvirate cements both Halo and Bungie's place among the all time greats in the video game world. Whether you're a tried and true hardcore Halo fan, or a newbie just getting into the craze, you must get this game. It is truly an incredible experience, not only to behold, but to be the most integral part of. Plus, there is online Co-op play, so you can go through the story mode with an online friend, or more than one!
Of particular note are the voice performances of Keith David (the Arbiter) and Robert Davi (the Ship Master Elite, a very cool returning minor character from Halo 2).
The only downside, I suppose, is that Michael Wincott, who voiced the Prophet of Truth in Halo 2, does not return in the role for Halo 3. While his replacement is by no means poor, the new voice simply does not have that metallic, sinister quality that Wincott's does.
That being said, long live the Arbiter and Master Chief!!!! Halo 3 is everything it was built up to be, and more.

When a sequel offers little in the way of innovation or stops short of a major revamp, I'd normally deduct a couple of stars in the name of tardiness. But this is a Halo game, and what makes it console dynamite isn't so much what's new, what's different, or even what happens as you play - instead, it's all about how it makes you feel.
Within an hour of starting the game you'll be leaping onto futuristic motorbikes and ripping the alien driver from his seat, then flipping the bike around and mowing the monster down with his own ride. In tight spots you'll be snapping stationary gun turrets from their mountings, then wading into the chaos of battle as your chunky cannon shreds legions of shrieking invaders. As you go ever-deeper behind enemy lines your allies will dive for cover when firefights turn to stalemate, compelling you to steam into impossible situations and sort them out with not much more than a pea-shooter. And when it finally comes to switching off your console and going to bed at night, finding the will to sleep will be impossible as you'll still feel ten-feet tall and able to punch holes in solid concrete.
Thrilling action aside, Halo 3 is also one of the best-looking games on the shelves and surpasses all expectations; from the slick, Hollywood-quality movies that flesh out the story and introduce cannon-fodder characters you can't help growing attached to, to dense forests where you can spot enemies fleeing through the undergrowth as trails of saplings get pushed aside, Halo 3 boasts an epic sense of scale and keen eye for detail, its stunning art direction helping to create breathtaking worlds that are a joy to explore and the perfect stage for tense and imaginative shootouts. The new battle gadgets and retooled Covenant enemies - each of which look more terrifying than before, especially when you're standing toe-to-toe with a Brute Chieftain intent on caving your skull in - also make this instalment absurdly exciting, and the fact you can stick with Master Chief throughout rather than being forced to control a crappy alien like in Halo 2 will be enough to tempt back players who were disillusioned by the last game.
But while the single-player adventure doesn't disappoint, Halo 3's biggest draw is its multiplayer carnage. As well as the traditional deathmatch clashes where players can tear their buddies limb from limb, Halo 3 boasts a selection of Xbox Live cooperative challenges, allowing players to hook-up, choose from a quartet of unique characters, then work through the entire single-player quest as a team. The sprawling online mode also features clever 'matchmaking' options where you're paired with other players of similar skill across the world, avoiding the frustration of becoming the whipping boy for a gang of experienced nutjobs.
While a tangible sense of déjà vu pervades the whole adventure, Halo 3 does what it does extremely well, and what it loses in originality it more than makes up for in stellar production values and delirious, balls-out blasting. And while players looking for a solo shooter may find BioShock's bleak atmosphere more intriguing, Halo 3's blistering blend of anarchic battles and team-based challenges make it worthy of the 'game of the year' tag so often thrust upon it.

This game is absolutely amazing. I remember looking back last year at the first main trailer shown with master chiefs bubble shield and the hype since then has just been building and building. Last night 26.9.07 at midnight i queued along with nearly 100-150 people to purchase halo 3 luckily for me and my friend we were around about the 5/6 people to purchase it :D The game as a whole is just amazing as i said. Visually its like perfection not a single thing wrong with the graphics. The game-play many have said is similar that of which it is however i found that controlling master chief has been improved slightly. it maybe is just me but i think that moving master chief and controlling his actions has been improved brilliantly. new vehicles and weapons and newly formed enemies halo 3 is "the" game to buy The hype over here in england has been incredible i have friends asking about the game all the time because they really want to get it but either cant afford or the place is sold out I would have to say i finished halo 2 and as soon as the ending was shown i wanted halo 3 now 4 years on it has been the biggest wait but it is really worth it :)

Halo 3 is amazing, a fantastic ending to the greatest trilogy ever made.
The main gripe I have is the often janky looking in-game and cutscene character models, such as Miranda Keyes, Lord Hood, Truth, Johnson, and others.
Halo 2 greatly benefited from updated graphics in its Anniversary edition. Halo 3 needs and deserves one as well. Please give it one!

The campaign, which is very good, is Halo 3's weakest point. It doesn't capture the cavalier spirit of the original Halo, but you'll still have fun playing through it. There's no first-person shooter on 360 that can equal Halo 3's blend of cinematic action, adrenaline-pumping shootouts, and male- (and female)-bonding gameplay. Look beyond the gameplay and you have a rich feature set unlike anything ever delivered in a video game. The Forge and the replay functionality raise the bar for console shooters so high, it may never be surpassed this generation. There will be plenty of aspects for fans to nitpick, but it's hard to argue against Halo 3 as the most complete game available on any console.
PRESENTATION - 10/10 An amazing replay editor, four-player online co-op, map editor, and community support make this the most robust feature set ever in a video game.
GRAPHICS - 9/10 Despite a few moments of slowdown, this is a gorgeous game, especially considering the demands of the replay function. And it's to die for in 1080p.
SOUND - 10/10 This is the reason God created Surround Sound. Halo's theme is a futuristic anthem that inspires the troops. The chatter during combat is fantastic.
GAMEPLAY - 9/10 There are a few questionable design choices in the campaign, but this series remains the most fun first-person shooter on the planet. Multiplayer and the Forge are fantastic
LASTING APPEAL - 10/10 The campaign won't take you long to complete, but this is a game that can be played for years. There are so many things to do, and it's so much fun to do them.

For me, personally, this is my favorite Halo. A lot of my friends also think this is the best game in the series. There are so many great Halo games that there are so many different answers you get when asked what your favorite Halo game is...
Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST, Reach...
I'm fine with anybody who disagrees with me on which Halo game is the best (unless you think Halo 4 or 5 is the best then I will rip you apart) because all of the original halo games are all amazing, and almost all equal to each other in terms of quality despite being different. But just in my personal opinion, through all of my experiences playing this game, I will say that it is my personal favorite. Great game.

Halo 3 is a must own game. It has everything you could want in a FPS game. It is one of the best FPS ever made and that title will not soon be taken away.
Halo 3 has online play which is an experience itself and put together with the campaign, all i can say is... wow. Online play does not get boring at all as there is so many types of games you can play such as slayer, team slayer, 1 and 2 flag capture the flag, oddball, the double exp. weekend and many others.
Halo 3 has proved to be one of the most very successful games ever. With its great graphics, storyline, easy to control game play and its awesome actual game play it tops the rest.
Unfortunately it is the last of the halo series in the FPS genre. Any Xbox 360 owner should have this game on their shelf.

this game has got to be the most amazing game i have ever had a chance to play, it starts off beautifully even to the tiniest details there is pure magnificence.
Bungie has changed some weapon and controls around but only for the better. for instance the assault rifle is back but with only 32-35? rounds and needler has been reduced to 30 rounds. but it is still fantastic, playing the levels you feel in the game as the screen is slightly tilted to each side giving a helmet feel,
there are no more words to describe it if you don't have this game get it because it's amazing, hands down game of the year.

Not quite the epic ending do an amazing trilogy. I'm not gonna lie and say it was amazing and the best yet just because I was waiting for it for so long and a lot of other people like it.
Let me first start out by saying I am a long-time Halo fan. I really love these games. I believe that Halo, Combat Evolved had the best storyline and Halo 2 had best online/ multi-player. When I heard Halo 3 was coming out, I was so excited. I bought it that weekend it came out and went home and beat it in a day.
A day. For those of you who don't know me, I am an extremely slow gamer. I found out very quickly that this is the shortest halo game. I thought the last should be the longest! It's a pretty quick single player experience.
Alright, actually playing the game. This game is, as I am happy to say, still fun to play. I love the jungle as the first few levels, and that ship that crashed that was infected with flood, I liked it. But, I think there's something missing with memorable levels or battles in levels. Like Halo 2 had some pretty memorable battle sequences. For instance, in the second level where you have a little siege on that building. First the elites/grunts, then the flying bugs and jackals, then BOOM! two hunters bust through the door! I liked that. But Halo 3's levels I though felt a bit rushed for me. My least favorite level is Cortana. Which basically has you running, the entire level not trying to kill the flood, but not let it kill you because they just keep coming. I just felt like something was missing in the single player experience.
The ending just felt a bit rushed too. I won't give anything away, but I think they definitely should have spent more time developing the end.
Lastly, multi-player. Multiplayer is fun and awesome. But there are a few things I don't like. They got rid of the old maps like blood gulch and sidewinder. I loved those old maps! And quite a few other maps from halo 2 aren't on there either! There are a lot of new maps too though, but it just doesn't feel the same for me. But it's not that bad I guess. I absolutely love the fact there's theater and you can go back and watch a lot of your latest online battles.
So here you have it: In a nutshell, Halo 3 I think felt a bit rushed, and not exactly what I had hoped it to be. It's still a good game but it's not the amazing ending I thought it would be. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't buy it.
I'm sure a lot of you die-hard halo fans might badger me for writing this review, but hey, this is how I feel about it. You feel different? Message me, I want to see what you think. Thanks for reading this.

It was only recently that I played the original Halo; the game had come out in the generation I skipped and when I eventually rejoined gaming with the 360, I had all the shooters I needed with COD4 and anything I saw of Halo was of a multiplayer with big beasts that seemed to take a lot of hits to die – basically it never appealed to me. I loved the first game and due to a broken disk of Halo 2 which kept dying midway into the campaign, jumped right into Halo 3. The graphics were a nice change from the original Halo (even the updated version) and although I missed the final half of Halo 2, the story was not too hard to pick up since essentially the players are all the same.
The gameplay is a lot of fun – more than I expected. The world terrains are large with nice open areas where you have options in terms of the fight and where you can see others battling with you or alongside you. I started the game on Heroic and found the game to be perhaps a bit too challenging to be fun for a casual player such as myself. On Normal setting it is perhaps a bit too easy but it still has a challenge – you cannot hold the trigger while running forward. The flow of enemy and the structure of levels is really good and I continued to be forced to use all sorts of weapons since ammo is not always readily available for any one weapon. The use of music and the large cinematic landscapes produce great moments but also a real sense of excitement; the best example is the final level, which is a drive against the clock like the first game, however this time the clock is not real but a warning triggered by progress – so not a real heart-in-mouth race, but it is exciting and the urgency helped by the scale of the surroundings and the music. The cut- scenes are not overly used but when they are they add to the cinematic feel, being dramatic and looking very good – the only thing I think they did badly was the ending as it is misleading and doesn't make too much sense unless you sit through all the credits (which we all know we should but nobody does); it would have been better to deliver it all properly. Otherwise it is generally a very well put together game though.
The downside of it is that the game is not as long as I would have liked – it is plenty fun while I played but even for someone only grabbing a few hours every few evenings, it was done quite quickly. The reason for this I assume was the multiplayer experience being the bigger part of the sale. For me I don't pay for Gold to play online, so I cannot comment on that – but for the very low price I was able to pick this up for, I felt the solo campaign was more than good enough on its own – shortness aside.
A strong game then – even some 6 years later it stands up very well. Very glad I checked the franchise out at last and I'll probably carry on with the next game at some point.

Halo 3, wow. This game has fallen victim to the George Lucas disease. Don't get me wrong, Halo is one of my very favorite franchises, and I was super-expectant of the sequel that had me convinced of its greatness with commercials I found were more exciting than the game itself. When we finally got a copy in good condition the disc was popped in the tray and we prepared to be amazed, and prepared, and prepared... Halo 3, was simply Halo 2 with a few innovations, improved graphics that are merely average next-gen, and a sloppier, more two-dimensional story-line. This makes me terribly sad because the story and the characters of the previous installments surpassed the excellent action.
I was appalled at the disappointment, and looked to see if anyone else felt the same, but everywhere I looked outside of my home city and a few others, people were raging about how great it was, blinded by their expectations to see much fault in the game.
In Halo 3, the combat remains intact, but repetitive enemies and the annoyingly present Flood detracted from the overall intensity of battling building-high enemies every now and again. Half of the new features they paraded in the videos and commercials are nowhere to be found, and the online ranking system is a joke.
No matter how well you do in a match, you are awarded one measly experience point, and if you lose to a superior team (which happens often because of the lope-sided match-making) twice in a row you lose an experience point, a whole match wasted.
In the single-player experience, the characters I had cared for in Halo and Halo 2 were torn to pieces with terribly silly character models and ferociously cardboard lines. Sergeant Johnson has been turned into a bug-eyed, white gangster wannabe whom I no longer cared for because of this and other reasons you would have to play to know.
The level design is beautiful and could have gone so far, but many off-tracks turn the missions from an open-ended sand-box battleground into an annoyingly repetitive maze combined with poor-lighting and a lack of any sort of direction other than an ambiguous arrow. In the cuts-scenes before most missions, you can see the background is painfully and obviously just a painted sheet.
Halo 3 isn't all bad though, the graphics are passable, and the selection of weapons is diverse and usually gratifying when you get a hold of the real stuff. But the weapons came too late in the game to be justified, and the greatest new vehicle, the hornet, is only in a few missions. The most significant highlights of the game is when you are alongside an army tackling even more powerful armies, but this seldom occurs when compared to all of the mundane solo missions you have to trudge through.
All in all, Halo 3 is an average title with enormous potential, but sadly the folks at Bungie didn't expand as far as they should have to live up to their other Halo masterpieces. If you are a fan of Halo, by all means go ahead and get it, but if you want real action and a great story, look elsewhere.

Halo 3 when it first came out and my dad got my brother and I am Xbox 360 with a lot of games. One of them being Halo 3, friends talked about it at school, beating the game, and talking about the hype, I was soooo excited that when it was my turn to play I played halo 3 and it caught my attention very fast and I was hooked into it, I have never played anything like it. Suddenly I was playing for hours and I was very hooked into the game, played it the next day to complete it and I did complete the game and I was shocked at what I had just played and couldn't believe I actually beat the game and it was phenomenal. This game holds a special place in my heart and I will always cherish it forever! If you have not played this, I would highly recommend doing so, this game will change your life! Overall, 10/10 A Gaming Masterpiece and a masterpiece soundtrack!
Couldn't ask Bungie for a better sequel.
I remember queuing for this at midnight 25.09.07. Such excitement and such hype, not to be disappointed.
The storyline of the campaign is a thrilling addition to the series and the campaign mode can be enjoyed to the full in four player co- operative. This game is full of fun, however still manages to pack in difficulty with the legendary difficulty for those who want a real challenge. Even after getting all the fun out of the campaign, you can go on to online matchmaking in which you battle out in endless game types, packing in true competition with ranked matches, or social playlists for beginners or the action sack playlist for fun-lovers. Then there's theatre mode which is great for everyone. It gives you the ability to capture your best moments in halo by viewing your recent games and then being able to record footage from whichever angle you want and then recommend it to others to download and view themselves. Use it to show off, or just even just for a humorous approach.
It doesn't end there, there's also a forge mode in which you are given the ability to create new maps alone or with friends. These maps can then be recommended and others can download them and give them a play.
I purchased the game on its release date back in 2007. It's now 2012 and I still play it from day to day.
With Halo 3, the possibilities really are endless.

I first played this game back in 2007 months after it was released.I played mesmerized. The graphics are as realistic as Avatar but this made 2 years before Avatar! The online multi-player is addicting. I played online everyday all day which i have never done before. The story is solid, straight-forward and to the point. The best thing this game has to offer is the Forge mode. The selection of item to put on maps is amazing. The amount of arenas is a good amount. The final thing to discuss is theater mode.If you are into making machinima, this is the definitive console game. It does not get any better than this the controls are the best thing on the market now(I mean that the theater mode control scheme is amazing.)The only thing this game lacks is the length it need to be way longer.
Overall, Halo 3 has tons of replay value. Multi-player(in general) 10/10 story 9/10 Forge 10/10 Theater 10/10 My over all rating 9.9/10. Buy it. It's worth the money.

Halo 3 blew be away. The graphics were great, the controls were great, everything. This game is great but most games have their slight imperfections. One thing I have noticed is that the game has some collision problems. I kill a wraith and the brutes inside go right through it! Come on! If you die and go flying across the room and their is a crate in the way, you go right through it. I have also noticed that when you melee another player it can become late and when that happens you die before your enemy does. Besides those minor flaws, Halo 3 is an amazing game and a serious contender for game of the year.

Let's just say Halo 3 is a powerful and exciting game that could be famed worldwide for years on end. The game has a few features, all compelling and worth delving into, with only a few flaws here and there. But the glitches, Easter Eggs and Skulls (which are all hidden) keep the community and fans always knowing there's more after the completion of the surprisingly short campaign.
Campaign - Halo: Combat Evolved had 10 levels, Halo 2 was longer with 15. But Halo 3? Only 9. I felt that Halo 3's campaign was slightly rushed and shorter than it had the potential to be. It was fun and dramatic, with new weapons, new vehicles and the usual hype and adrenaline caught it in the battles and firefights. The levels were quite well-structured, individually carrying its own ups and downs. For example, one level was notorious for being incredibly hard, but it compensated by being short. Another level was quite enjoyable and explosive, but was the longest. Halo 3's campaign, for me carried an 8/10 mark.
Matchmaking - The matchmaking in the Halo Trilogy is better than ever, with many different categories and playlists, a weekly DoubleXPWeekend playlist, and a few unique choices. This feature is obviously the most played in the world, as statistics even pointed out that matchmaking play time had taken up millions of years in the second year of Halo 3's release. Matchmaking is when you compete against other players online, around the world, no matter where they are, as long as they have connection. It is the most addictive of the features and it has kept Halo fans playing the game for long stretches of time on end. A definite recommendation to any fan of Online Shooters. The only downfall is the scope and scale of the games. Some people think that 8 players fighting on a map that would've suited 16 is quite slow-paced and not explosive and action-packed enough. Matchmaking should deserve a 9/10 mark.
Custom Games - Usual Custom Game choices include the map and gametype. But this one allows you to choose your own custom created map and your own custom created gametype, with precise settings that the Party Leader chooses to tweak gameplay in whatever way possible. Custom Games are inventive and very free-choiced. A downside is that sometimes the custom choices aren't as spaced and varied as they could've been. Probably an 8/10.
Forge - This is Halo 3's "Unique Feature". It allows gamers to visit a map and just play around with it. Like, deleting objects, changing objects, adding objects, with near-infinite choices when it comes to the downloadable maps like Foundry or Sandbox. It allows you to morph the map into whatever shape you want it to be. These maps can be used in Custom Games or posted on the File Share to show to the world. But maybe Bungie could've been more free with what you can do with the addition and positioning of the objects. I'd give it a 9/10.
Theatre - Another Unique Feature in Halo 3 is the Theatre, where you can see games, take screenshots or film videos, and then see them, share them, and post them on the File Share to let it to the community. The Theatre is inventive and useful for reliving memorable moments, like an impressive kill of maybe a photo that you think looks cool. This feature is quite good, like what REALLY annoys if the fact that if you do not save a video and therefore brand it as part of your 'out-of-100' custom saved content list, you cannot screen it the next day or afterwards. A 7/10 for this one.
Halo 3 is a game to look out for, and I think all lovers of Sci-Fi or First-Person-Shooter will love it and its infinite possibilities.

This game is the conclusion of the HALO saga for Bungie it has an impacting campaign. With beautiful art and well design maps it is one of the best games there is. Multiplayer is amazingly adrenaline rushing.
In my opinion this is the best game ever made. I played it to hell and back when it came out and still enjoy it just as much today.

For the life of me I can't fathom where all the hysteria over this game comes from. The story line is hammy at best, the graphics are pixelated and very poor for a next gen, allegedly hi-def title, and the characters unlovable. Play Bioshock, then tell me Halo 3 has great graphics. Better still, play Crysis and tell me Halo 3 even looks next gen. It, at times, looks like it's being played on a Wii or PS2. I will say that the landscape scenes have a certain alien prettiness, and the hype (if you buy into it a little) can make it seem involving and worthwhile, but on the whole a huge disappointment unless you're a 360 fan-boy. If you want the most honest opinion, look up zero punctuation's review. Forget everything else because it's all rubbish.

it is pointless. you don't unlock anything. you just play round after round for no reason what so ever. don't get me wrong the campaign was good but the on-line is just so boring. it takes forever to level up. unless you play 10 hours straight. if there is going to be a Halo 4, make the on-line experience more fun. like u can unlock guns instead of them spread all across the map. that is what i hated most about the on-line experience. but i do like that u can pick the color of your armor and the type of your armor but it doesn't matter what u choose. no matter what your stats don't change. another thing i do like is that u can choose spartan or elite

Played Halo 3 very excellent game also great graphics and voice work By Steve Downes (Halo:Combat Evolved) as Master Chief, Jen Taylor(Halo 2) as Cortana,Keith David(Gargoyles) as Arbiter Thel Vadam ,David Scully(F. E. A,R) as Sergeant Avery Johnson,Justis Bolding(7th Heaven) as Miranda Keyes, Ron Perlman(Call Of Duty:Black Ops III) as Lord Hood, Terence Stamp(Superman II)as Prophet Of Truth ,Nathan Fillion(Serenity) as Gunnery Sergeant Reynolds, Tim Dadabo(Carrier) as 343 Guilty Spark and Dee Bradley Baker(Spider-Man 2:Enter Electro) as Gravemind .
Campaign: I really enjoy we are Chief during the final offensive of Human-Covenant War also the stakes are very higher as we try to stop the Covenant from Unleashes The Ark also one of the most epic scenes in gaming is the Arrival Of The Forward Unto To Dawn accompanied with amazing score by O' Donnells & Salvatori's
Multiplayer: Has some of the best of multiplayers i remember having a good time at Halo Lan Parties playing this game
This Is The Bar For Video Game Threequels No Matter The Genre In Gaming 10/10.
