The pair go way back, as two women who took the cooking and hosting worlds by storm in the 1990s. While Ina was working and living in the Hamptons, Martha purchased a home there in 1990. Later that year, Martha‘s magazine published its first ever copy, and included a write up on Ina, who was a local fan fave at the time.

Years later, Martha‘s production company ended up getting Ina a Food Network show. The show didn’t pan out, and Ina instead ended up on the Food Network in the early 2000s, hosting her show, the Barefoot Contessa.

The next season of Garten’s Emmy-award-winning cooking talk show set at the East Hampton home she shares with her husband Jeffrey will launch in the fall and boast a guest list that includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Stephen Colbert and Evie McGee Colbert and fellow Food Network star Bobby Flay, among others.

Previous seasons of “Be My Guest” have featured Emily Blunt, Jennifer Garner, Nathan Lane, Laura Linney, Stanley Tucci, astronaut Nicole Mann, ballerina Misty Copeland, restaurateur and author Danny Meyer and journalist Frank Bruni.

Garten is a New York Times bestselling author of thirteen cookbooks with her most recent, “Go-To Dinners,” released in October 2022. This October, Garten’s memoir, “Be Ready When the Luck Happens,” will hit shelves.

Discovery’s Hispanic division is launching Hogar de Hgtv, a network whose Spanish-language programming derives from Food Network, Hgtv and Discovery on Cox and Charter cable systems.

The network will debut June 30 on Cox Contour and will be available to Charter Spectrum subscribers by August 1.

Hogar de Hgtv will join Discovery en Español and Discovery Familia in the company’s Hispanic portfolio.

“Late Night With Seth Meyers” took a day trip Wednesday night, which featured the drunk adventures of host Seth Meyers and his friend Ina Garten aka “The Barefoot Contessa.”

Meyers took the Food Network star and famous Hamptons resident to the Corner Bistro in Manhattan to spend an afternoon sipping cocktails. Ok, more than just sipping. They even concocted a few of their own — though Ina’s turned out much prettier (and probably tastier) than Seth’s.

"I am starstruck by children's book authors, big time," she revealed. "I met Marla Frazee and was just, didn't even know what to say to her. I am starstruck by ballerinas, big time. I am starstruck...I heard this woman play the saxophone the other day, she was so amazing. I couldn't look at her after. Just anyone who can do something that you can't do."

Anthony Bourdain has had this fair share of beef with other notable chefs—but there is one culinary star he holds to a high standard, no matter what he’s said about her in the past.

Ina Garten has many favorite things (truffle butter, French apple tarts, and her husband Jeffrey, for starters)—but her own cooking show is not one of them.

“I never watch cooking shows, certainly not mine,” the Barefoot Contessa star tells People in the new Food Faves issue, on newsstands Friday. “Not a chance. I would never do another show. I think I’m terrible!”

“I’m glad other people like it, that’s all I can say,” she added. And like it, they certainly do. After 15 years on the Food Network, Garten credits her success to her tried-and-true recipes and unwavering support from Jeffrey.

“It’s such a basic, comfort dinner and it’s so delicious and so easy to make,” the Barefoot Contessa star says of her “most requested” recipe.

Ina Garten’s Perfect Roast Chicken

1 (5 to 6 lb.) roasting chicken

Kosher salt

Ground black pepper

1 large bunch fresh thyme

1 lemon, halved

1 head garlic, cut in half crosswise

2 tbsp. butter, melted

1 Spanish onion, thickly sliced

1 cup chicken stock, preferably homemade

2 tbsp. all-purpose flour

1. Preheat the oven to 425°.

2. Remove the chicken giblets. Rinse the chicken inside and out. Remove any excess fat and leftover pinfeathers and pat the outside dry. Place the chicken in a large roasting pan.

Leave it to Ina Garten and her expertise to save you from a kitchen disaster — this time offering up a simple, crowd-pleasing guacamole recipe that you can whip up for those last-minute summer guests.

The Barefoot Contessa host shared her personal guac tips with her 1.2 million Instagram followers Thursday, suggesting plenty of citrus as her key ingredient. But while most recipes have a zip of lime juice, Garten opts for something a little different.

Ina Garten is constantly testing out new recipes for cookbooks like her latest, Cooking for Jeffrey, but there is one meal that remains constant.

“I’ve had the same thing for breakfast every single day for ten years: coffee and McCann’s quick-cooking Irish oatmeal,” the Barefoot Contessa star tells Bon Appetit for their “Grocery List” series. Garten says she adds “lots of salt” because “I don’t want it to taste like wallpaper paste.”

Other staples in the Garten household include “a bowl of lemons on the counter (and other citrus), butter, eggs, Parmesan cheese, and chocolate,” she says.

Though it’s no competition for her love for her husband Jeffrey, Ina Garten has long adored Paris. After first visiting the French capital decades ago, the Food Network star purchased a pied-a-terre in the 7th Arrondissement in 2000 and often escapes her main home in East Hampton, NY for holidays and vacations there.

Throughout her travels, Ina is constantly posting about her favorite restaurants and Parisian destinations on Instagram. Her “first stop” on a recent trip was to Poilâne bakery for some fresh baked bread. The quaint shop is a spot she visits often—like on Christmas Eve last year...

Ina Garten says not having a child with her husband of 48 years, Jeffrey, was a deliberate choice.

The 69-year-old Food Network star opened up about their relationship during her recent appearance on the Katie Couric Podcast, including the reason they decided to not have children.

"I really appreciate that other people do, and we will always have friends that have children that we are close to, but it was a choice I made very early," Garten says. "I really felt -- I feel -- that I would have never been able to have the life I've had. And so it's a choice, and that was the choice I made."

Former First Lady Michelle Obama will serve as a guest judge on the upcoming season of Gordon Ramsay’s hit show MasterChef Junior, the Los Angeles Times reports.
