When Ian sits in the tent with Gina, the German poem that he recites is called "Gefunden", which means "Found". It tells of finding a little flower in the woods, which he replants in his garden and now continues to branch out and bloom. Written in 1813 by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, a widely recognized German writer and mathematician.
