Duran Duran have announced the release of an exciting new live concert film, Secret Oktober, available exclusively on StagePlayer+ from Friday 25th October, in time for Halloween 2024.

Secret Oktober presents the origin story of Duran Duran’s latest studio album, Danse Macabre. The concert film was recorded at the Encore Theatre at Wynn, Las Vegas, October 31st, 2022. Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor, in full costume, took to the stage complete with 20-foot high skeletons, tombstones, cobwebs, coffins and ghouls, for a unique, themed set. According to Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes, the band “unlocked an unexpected box of curiosity and creativity” when they started making their 2023 album, Danse Macabre. Now, the latest product of that newfound energy has arrived: “New Moon (Dark Phase),” a reimagined version of their 1984 song “New Moon On Monday.”

Released as a single ahead of the upcoming deluxe re-release of Danse Macabre, “New Moon (Dark Phase)” swaps out the original’s pulsing ‘80s synths with a more ethereal, modern arrangement, featuring contributions from former band member, Andy Taylor. Throughout, vocalist Simon Le Bon carries the melody, gracefully slipping into his upper register on the verses and delivering the chorus’ catchy hook.

Duran Duran have shared their funky new song “Black Moonlight,” one of the band’s three originals from their upcoming Halloween-inspired, largely covers album Danse Macabre.

For the track, Duran Duran reunited with longtime collaborator Nile Rodgers, who previously produced the band’s 1986 LP Notorious, in addition to other contributions throughout the decades.

“‘Black Moonlight’ is this classic Duran Duran-Nile Rodgers collaboration,” Simon Le Bon said in a statement. “When Nile started playing his guitar in the studio, he really inspired everyone with his riff, and the song just kind of wrote itself.

Hohlbeins’ – The Gryphon, based on the works of Wolfgang Holhlbein, will present a sprawling fantasy tale about three teens discovering a fantastical world called The Black Tower where “the Gryphon, a world-devouring monster, mercilessly subjugates all living creatures.”

But when Kid Cudi performed last year, he cut his set short after concertgoers kept throwing objects at him. So it’s no surprise his name doesn’t appear in this year’s lineup.

The first Rolling Loud was a one-day event held in 2015 in Miami, Florida. Over the years, the festival has expanded to larger venues, increased its format to three days, and collaborated with other states and countries to sponsor similar events.

Portugal. the Man have shared “Champ,” a new single from their upcoming album, Chris Black Changed My Life. Produced by Jeff Bhasker, the track finds the band reimagining Edgar Winter’s “Dying to Live” with their own psychedelic twist. Listen below.

Chris Black Changed My Life is due out on June 23rd. Per the newly revealed tracklist, several notable guests join Ptm on the album, including The Roots’ Black Thought, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Paul Williams, Natalia Lafourcade, and Sean Leon.

Chris Black Changed My Life is dedicated to Portugal. The Man’s late friend and honorary band member, Chris Black, who died on May 19th, 2019. Previously, the band previewed the album by sharing the lead single, “Dummy.”

This summer, Portugal. the Man will take the album on the road, including a festival set at Bonnaroo and headlining shows at Red Rocks, Radio City, and Hollywood Bowl. Tickets are available here.

The Pink Ladies of “Grease,” the most colorful Rydell High students, are back on April 6 on Paramount+. However, this won’t be the same collection of young women from the original film — or even its cult classic sequel. This round, we see how the popular clique got its start. The girls now have a show of their own: “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies,” a salute to 1950s teens who refuse to conform to conventional standards. Adam Lambert is not a fan of the idea of Theo James playing George Michael in a biopic.

Rumours circulated earlier this week that a biopic was in order for the “Careless Whisper” singer, with talks of the “White Lotus” star taking on the leading role.

When the news hit The Advocate’s Instagram page, Lambert shared his not-so-agreeable thoughts in the comments section.

“Yay another straight man playing a gay icon,” wrote the former “American Idol” contestant with an eye-roll emoji.

The “Ghost Town” singer’s comments are most likely referring to the recent biopics “Bohemian Rhapsody“ and “Rocketman,” where actor Rami Malek plays Freddie Mercury, and Taron Egerton plays Elton John.

James, 38, showed interest in playing Michael during an interview on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” on January 13.

Damon Albarn is remembering his late friend Terry Hall of the Specials through his music. On Tuesday, the Gorillaz musician posted a video of himself playing piano to the Specials’ “Friday Night, Saturday Morning” as a tribute to Hall, who died Monday at age 63.

Terry Hall, the frontman of influential U.K. ska band the Specials and later a member of new wave pop act Fun Boy Three, has died. He was 63.

As the lead singer of the politically and socially conscious Specials, Hall achieved U.K. fame and cult status through songs such as “Ghost Town,” “Gangsters” and “Too Much Too Young.

Hall and the Specials reached their widest appeal with the haunting, socially conscious “Ghost Town,” which spent three weeks at No. 1 on the U.K. singles charts in 1981.
