Many cockpit scenes were filmed flying a real airplane, as opposed to a fake cockpit behind a green screen.
Andrew Keegan, who plays Strayger, was originally offered the role of Walt Disney in the critically acclaimed "Walt Before Mickey." He turned it down, mostly due to Disney's antisemitic beliefs. The role ended up being offered to Thomas Ian Nicholas, a frequent collaborator of Keegan's, who accepted on the spot.
