When William is searching the internet for information about his dad, he starts by typing "Bill". While he's doing that, the top search result is of actor Bill Paxton, who starred in another storm chasing movie, "Twister".

The tornadoes featured throughout the movie are actual tornadoes. The director, Jamie Winterstern, reportedly chased tornadoes for four years. He also reached out to the well known storm chaser Pecos Hank ( or Hank Schyma) for footage of some of the tornadoes he had recorded.

One of the last projects actress Anne Heche had worked on before her passing on August 8th, 2022. The final movie released featuring Heche before her death, "13 Minutes," also had to do with tornadic weather.

A musical theme very close to the one for sheriff Brody from JAWS (1975) is heard multiple times towards the beginning of the film. An obvious reference since Brody is the last name of the lead characters.

Alec Baldwin worked on this movie for only five days.
