Interesting - slow at the beginning - favourite character is Lina.followed by Sloane - Gia is just all over the place , Maggie is young and foolish and trying to regain her self respect. The male characters in this seem very much secondary at least it would seem so at the beginning , but okay a very real role moving forward. If you can get over the first few or so episodes you will invest in the rest of the show.. this is. It something I would usually watch, but it intrigued me from what others were saying and talking about. In parts it's quite raw, emotional, sexual, bouncing from hot to cold.
Lisa Taddeo actually went and met these women and wrote about their lives - these negative reviews are so harsh and criticizing the storylines - that's how they actually happened - this show is based on true stories that Lisa wrote about in a book and now it's been made into a show - I really don't understand the harsh criticism I've read. I am loving the show so far but that might also be because I read the book. I am not a big reader (I'd like to be) but I really enjoyed her book so to see these characters brought to life - I am really appreciating reimagining this story with these actors and getting to watch these stories about real women, played out by women, directed and written by women - so any criticism of how "anti-feminist" it is is just weird. I like the show.

I admit I was skeptical during the first episode, which felt heavy handed with its use of narration, a bit gratuitous with some of the nudity, and a little too familiar with its stories of female sexuality. But I'm really glad I stuck with the show beyond that episode, because it turned out to be a deep and thoughtful character study of flawed, but very relatable and/or intriguing characters. As the series went on I continually went back and forth over which storyline I found most compelling, but now having seen all 10 episodes, I can honestly say I didn't have a favorite because they were all so interesting. The performances by all the leads were also exceptional and even the lesser known supporting cast really shined throughout. I highly recommend this series to anyone who's interested in great storytelling, complex characters, and terrific acting.

... how can you not watch this show... Shailene Woodley and Betty Gilpin.. either would be enough, but both of them... GLOW had me falling in love with Betty Gilpin, and it probably is not one of her best known appearances, but Endings, Beginnings was all pure alluring Shailene
... way too early to say much about how good or not Three Women will be, but I'd not be saying much against these two... Showtime had the series and decided not to proceed with it, handing it over to Starz... thanks for that
... slated for ten episodes, so there's going to be time to get deeper into character development.. really looking forward to seeing what this production will be offering
... 01.22.24 - near one out of six raters (still very small sample have voted so far) give it a '1'... that's scorn for reasons other than the quality of the work... this is a very-good-production, builds story-line-character-development throughout... acting's-outrageously-solid... will for sure be watched again & again... a-solid-'9'

After 3 episodes we unfortunately fell off this show. We liked the first episode and the show is filled with a lot of talented actresses, the second episode was brilliantly acted but not that convincing in regards of pacing and script and already boringly sex focussed. With the third episode it really delves into mommy porn territory and we really failed to see the depth and were really bored.
I am sure there will be some great parts in the rest of the episodes but we are too old and ununterested in drawn out and rather explicit sex scenes.
It is great to see Gilpin being given material to really work with but i guess a show about the sexual lifestyle of 3 US women is just not our cup of tea.

I Never Ever write reviews. Far be it from me to critique another's art. But!
I'm only 26 minutes into the first episode on STARZ and am godsmacked!
What a revolutionary take on women in this contemporary society. Stellar dialogue and cinematic performances by these beautiful young actors. WOW, so refreshing to see what the new kids on the block are coming up with!
Well Done.
They say I have to come up with 257 more Characters to qualify for this review.. So here goes: Yes and Yes and Yes! Wish for more brilliance from the writers, producers, STARZ Network and a leap to go too far, too soon.

A series about women, for women, and which I understand is supposed to have some kind of feminist perspective. How could they have missed something as basic as the fact that none of the many long sex scenes contain anything other than penetration? The men in the series act like teenagers in the bed.
Complete absence of caresses, hands and tongue. Are the creators familiar with something called the clitoris?
Otherwise, its an ok show but nothing rememberable. It feels slow and i find the storyline about the writer booring. Linas character and storyline is the only one which feels more interesting.

Shailene Woodly is spectactular in this. The sex scenes are intimate and sometimes awkward but never porny... just passion. Episode 5 deserves an award i think the most powerful arc i have seen on television. Each of the three women are amazing Dwanda wise is simply impossible to look away from. Lisa walks the walk by including her own messy begings w Jack. Suprising since they were not in the book but she does bring it all together. A brilliant move on the writers parts. I love this show. I also think its great that starz picked it up. Showtime is gone starz is making its way with some great lineup. This on the top of this season.

What could you possibly write about this series besides wetness, screaming, moaning, hurting and "distasteful" peak sensations of the senses and faces. It is too weird slow with super uninteresting conversations and happenings, with good acting though, but failing to really grab viewers' attention.
You make a series, you want it impactful, enjoyable by both genders, so with that story, make it at least a sixteen episode one that slowly but surly unfolds with a real ending.

Three Women attempts to tackle feminist themes, but often falls into the trap of caricatured characters and exaggerated storytelling. The portrayal of both female and male characters feels fake and one-dimensional, detracting from the potential depth of the narrative.
The show seems to rely heavily on stereotypes rather than exploring the complexities of its characters' lives. For instance, the women are often portrayed as either hyper-emotional or overly empowered, lacking the nuanced development that would make their journeys relatable. This reductionist approach not only undermines the feminist message but also risks alienating viewers who seek authenticity in character arcs.
Moreover, the dialogue often feels forced, as if the writers are trying too hard to deliver 'witty' or 'provocative' lines that ultimately fall flat. Instead of sparking meaningful conversations, it often leads to eye-rolls and groans.
The pacing also suffers; moments that could have been poignant are rushed, while others drag on unnecessarily. This inconsistency disrupts the flow of the story and makes it difficult to invest in the characters' struggles.
Overall, while "Three Women" aims to be a bold exploration of contemporary femininity, it can come off as cringeworthy rather than thought-provoking. The show misses an opportunity to engage in a deeper dialogue about women's experiences, leaving viewers with a sense of disappointment rather than empowerment.

This was HORRIBLE! A consummate waste of time. Disjointed with zero continuity, no obvious rationale or character exposition. Although the premise was a bit suspect, the trailer lead me to think the production value and promo equated to a decent proposition. Boy, was that wrong! Who the hell green lighted this total mess? Someone obviously had an inside motivation to push this dog forward. The nudity was so vapid and the sex was so obviously staged, it was like what I imagine a cheap porno shoot to be. So depressing that this was characterized as a portrayal of womens' desire. Skip this and delist the Starz network, as well!
