Inspector Diego Torres, of the Narcotics Brigade, goes to a garbage dump in the outskirts with his team to gather information about the murder of a young woman whose body has appeared there semi-buried. She is a teenager who shows signs of violent death and elements that could be related to the world of drug trafficking. In the neighborhood, Catalina and her mother, Fina, go to the police station to clarify the circumstances that led the oldest son of the family, Jesus, to end up arrested after an altercation in the strike called in the factory where he works. It is a middle-class family that goes ahead using all the resources at their fingertips: Fina, working as a teleoperator and arranging clothes for their neighbors; Jesus, giving his all in the factory and repairing cars in a workshop and Catalina studying at the institute to carve out a more promising future and working in a luxurious fashion store to bring some money to the tight family economy. The young woman is a very applied student, but something unconscious and dreamer, and with a marked complex for having a small chest. The routine in which they live immersed is altered with the arrival of "El Duque", a former neighborhood neighbor who returns to become a wealthy drug trafficker. Catherine meets the offender by chance and is fascinated by her world of luxury and money. Little by little and without realizing it, the young woman falls in love with him and takes steps that approach her to a dark world that materializes at first with the attendance to a party with which "El Duque" pretends to entertain some capos of the drug he wants to do business with. In the meantime, Inspector Torres continues with his investigation of the young woman's murder, finding clues that relate the case to the drug trafficker's environment.

Jesus gives Inspector Torres the exact place where the loaded drug boat will enter. The police will complete the operation against drug trafficking, although he will not be able to capture Duque and his associates, who have enough time to escape. Unable to capture the drug traffickers, Inspector Torres begins to think that there is a mole inside his team that has passed the information to the drug gang so they can escape.

Duke remains hidden in Colombia with Morón and Cardona. After the failure of the operation, the bosses of the band do not trust him and subject him to a hard test to show that he is on his side. Meanwhile, Vanesa and Cristina do not know what to do since Jessica and the drug traffickers left the neighborhood. The first took refuge in the world of drugs, while Cris tries to take his first steps in interpretation. In addition, Torres goes to therapy in order to find out the cause of his obsessions.

Catalina recovers from her operation, but the woman shown by the mirror is not the one she ever had known. The difficult personal situation he goes through makes her looks for support in Jessica, the least indicated person to help her. Duque, meanwhile, prepares his return to Spain, as the relationship with the Colombian cartel is increasingly complicated, while inspector Torres tries to show that a "mole" within the police body dismantled the operation.

Duque is cautious after his return to Spain. His goal is to seal an agreement that will make him someone very important in drug trafficking, but first he must take care of expelling Buco and his followers from the neighborhood. On the other hand, Fina discovers that the dresses she designed for Tomás are for sale without her permission.

Duque starts a new operation. This time, the drug trafficker will introduce a drug shipment using the contacts of Cortés, his new partner and the man he has left Catalina for. On the other hand, happiness reaches Fina's home: the relationship between her and Tomás goes on, she has left the job as operator to devote herself completely to fashion design and has reunited with her daughter. In addition, a new inspector - agent Cuesta - joins Torres' group, while Jesús and Paula make their relationship public. Cristina continues her career as an actress in erotic movies.

The life of Jesus is in danger after the shot he received from Pertur. Catalina's brother, seriously injured, is torn between life and death in the hospital surrounded by his family and friends. The grave situation of Jesus reunites mother and daughter, who mourn inconsolably before the young man's bed. Fina has the unconditional support of Tomás, but Catalina feels alone and begins to believe that Duque is responsible for the situation in which his brother is. On the other hand, Inspector Torres believes that behind the shot that wounded Jesus are the hands of Duque. The agent plans to set a trap for the drug trafficker with the help of Catalina. However, doubts again cornered the young woman, who wonders whether or not to go to the ambush.
