I can't believe how much I loved Peacemaker! I've been looking forward to this ever since I first heard about it. I actually binged the entire first season over the a weekend. John Cena is a bonafide star now. He's so good in this, even better than he was in Suicide Squad. James Gunn has hit another home run with Peacemaker. It seems that every single thing Gunn touches is great. I read that he's taken over as the co head of DC studios. That's the best news to happen to DC in a long time. I'm sure he'll do a great job. Peacemaker has everything you want in a good superhero show...it has action, drama, comedy, twists, etc. I can not recommend this show enough.
Peacemaker was every bit as good as I had hoped for. I'm case you were wondering this takes place immediately after The Suicide Squad and much like The Suicide Squad, this is absolutely a show for adults with all the violence, language, etc and I loved every second of it. John Cena has come so far as an actor, he continues to get better and has followed The Rock to be another A list actor from the wrestling world! Gunn definitely put his stamp on this having written all 8 episodes and directing 5. If you're looking for a great action Superhero show that will make you laugh out loud then this is the show for you. Can't wait til Season 2!

The opening sequence is the best I've ever seen. Its so hypnotic I never skip intro.
This show is uncomfortably hilarious and easily one of the best superhero shows ever.
Peacemaker wasn't a stand out character in The Suicide Squad for me, so I wasn't that excited for this series, however after watching the show, seeing the character development and intriguing story line, I'm glad I decided to give it a go, I cant wait for the second season.
The casting is perfect. I LOVE vigilante, I hope S2 brings even more psychotic behaviour from him. His back story in the 1983 comic would make a great story line and help views understand why he is so messed up, and I wonder if we will het to meet 'Stuff' the Chinatown Kid.

I loved 2021's Suicide Squad, but if you'd asked me who from the movie I would give their own series, Peacemaker would probably have been my last choice. Not that John Cena wasn't good, but who'd want to be stuck with that guy week after week?
But the brilliant James Gunn pulled it off. This Peacemaker is a surprisingly complex character with a backstory that puts his flaws *somewhat* in perspective, and also the movie is hilarious and way out there (the opening credits are a first rate dance number).
The story is great, the action is great, there are terrific performances, more touching moments than you would expect, and a lot of amazing action sequences.
Highly recommended.

Going into this show, and looking at some of the reviews, i had semi high hopes for it, and i sure wasn't very dissatisfied. The comedic value of this show is only topped by a select few animated shows, and great pacing along with an amazing soundtrack really bring this whole show together.
But there are things that aren't particularly spectacular as well. The acting was just fine, although John Cena really shines with his performance here. Other than him though, everyone else is just fine. Nothing special, but definitely not bad. Another thing is the story. An alien invasion really isn't the most unique story, but it fits with the theme i guess.
Overall i really enjoyed this show, and would recommend it to people looking for a good time.

This show is right up there with my favorite superhero film series of all time, Guardians of the Galaxy, coincidently also written and directed by the brilliant and crazy like-minded James Gunn. But what makes this show so addictively watchable and entertaining, is the award-worthy insanely funny and perfect performance by Cena. I can't see anyone else pulling this off as well as he did. This guy legit is a skilled actor, whether it's his action performances, emotional displays, or his perfect comedic timing and deadpan delivery. I mean wow, I'm hooked!
At first I was wtf is this, especially the opening credit's dancing, then as I grew to know the characters better, and seeing Cena do things that I'd never thought I'd see filmed, I realized how genius and different this series was, and the more I watched, the more I wanted.
I waited until all 8 episodes were released, and binged, and am glad I did. I may have lost interest or got too anxious in between releases, but in binging, I was glued to the TV and wanted more antics and craziness and I couldn't stop. I was addicted! Had I had to wait for the next episode a week later, I'd have withdrawals - it hooks you in that good!
This is Gunn's greatest creation, and Cena's greatest performance, and it was pulled off with a low budget, so I can't wait till HBO throws money at Gunn for the next season due to its critical success. Everything on this show was near perfection; Gunn's directing and writing, all casting and performances - what a bunch of characters! The cinematography, visuals and S/VFX spot on. Eagly is my new favorite sidekick! And Gunn's choice of the soundtrack and score - amazing! I will be buying that soundtrack when available for sure!
I applaud everyone involved in this little gem we all didn't know we wanted, but needed - a refreshing change in the typical superhero genre. It's a well deserved 9/10 from me, and I'm already having withdrawals, so get onto the next season ASAP ladies and gentlemen, I'll be re-watching the current episodes until then.

DC is finding its lane as the anti, non family friendly, comedically dark (or just dark dark) alternative to Marvel and I'm here for it. Gunn continues on his raunchy, goofy take on super heroes and while I guarantee it won't be everyone's cup of tea I believe it will be a smart move in the long run to go full on with the dark, more adult adaption of comics to contrast with Marvels increasingly Disneyfied approach.

Loved the first three episodes when I started watching this show, such a breath of fresh air. Really cool to 'see' John Cena after the event of The Suicide Squad. James Gunn is a genius. Great TV show!
Peacemaker is a breath of fresh air in a genre that has become the equivalence of a broken tape recorder, sure the series has similarites with other comic-book adaptations, but what show doesn't? Gunn is mostly talked about as a director and rarely mentioned as a writer, but his unique sense of humor adds "class" to these band of misfits. And since people seem to like to compare, I'll take Cena over Larson any day of the week. The side characters are shallow and need a lot of development and the visuals could have been better. But considering the latest comic book adaptations we've gotten lately, I found Gunns approach to this universe admirable. I enjoyed the series for what it is, and more importantly for what it can be.
Judging by the reviews, this series is polarizing the critics and fans. Which is reminist of Gunn's older work. Slither(2006) is a fine example, considered to be a cult-classic, and to this day, one of my favourite guilty pleasures. Peacemaker is a wild trademark that might become it's own brand.

I don't understand hate. Different point of view on superhero. Great about this show is writing. Conversation between John and every other character . Let me tell you cena is a great choice for this role and he is good actor.

I was expecting Peacemaker to be awful, and it wound up having a lot of heart. James Gunn does it again with taking an obscure comic-book character (or characters) and making them household names.

A great dysfunctional set of characters with a cool eagle and cool visuals! :-) Hilarious irreverent humor delivered perfectly by John Cena! :-) It also has a good set of supporting cast!

Maybe cause I'm a huge James Gunn fan and loved The Suicide Squad movie I appreciate this series for what it is. I don't get the complains about the writing it's pretty solid maybe to much profanity otherwise it's brilliant and flows well! The music, cinematography, and humor and exciting vibes is all superb at least I'm excited for more; plus I crave anything woke I never understand the ones that bash brilliant/bold shows or movies.

Wow! I was Not expecting This! John Cena just blew me away with his likeability and just some of the funniest
comedy I have seen since I can remember in such a show..The only other with such irreverant, side splitting ,raunchy laughs is The Boys.
His character was fun in the movie role ,but man, give this guy his own show and he just hits a home run!
Im only 1 episode in but I love it!

I vaguely recall watching Suicide Squad and I vaguely recall it being extremely bad. Possibly I was high, but overall it can't be that memorable. Nonetheless (and although I'm a superhero skeptic) I ventured into this one, because of the American flag on the poster, and the vague 'Vertigo Comics' feel of it all. Well it's not gritty, in fact it's downright goofy, but it's a lot of fun - similar to The Boys for its take on superheroes, but less centred on (a rather generic) worldbuilding, and more focused on characterisation. The mixture of grotesque patriotism, extreme brutality, glam rock and testosterone-toilet humour was hard to pull off and Gunn generally succeedd, helped by a good performance of John Cena, and by some very catchy dialogues. The action is also quite good, low on digital effects and high on unexpected violence. I look forward to more.

Following the disappointing characters and flaws in Suicide Squad, its sequel, The Suicide Squad, introduces us to a brilliant cast, notably The Peacemaker. This well-written character seeks justice and peace through any means possible, enriched by a believable past with family issues.
The ensemble gathered for the missions in Peacemaker impresses with their performances. Peacemaker himself, Harcourt, Adebayo, Peacemaker's dad, the Police inspector were designed well and John Cena, Jennifer Holland, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick & Annie Chang portrayed it well. Personally, I found Vigilante and Economos to be the standout favorites!
The series excels in its compelling story, well-crafted plot, captivating antagonists, and lightning music keeping audiences entertained throughout. The DC Universe introduces us to their version of Iron Man, however, for few minutes (Dad).
However, I highly disliked the excessive profanity. While I understand that characters undergo diverse arcs and scenarios, they could still be a little gentler with their words instead of resorting to constant and gratuitous use of offensive language. This aspect requires moderation. Is using the F words and offensive languages a fashion now?
In conclusion, Peacemaker remains an exceptional series overall. I enjoyed it.

I've found it increasingly difficult to care at all about any of the Marvel or DC stuff that's come out since End Game. The formula has gotten very stale and even films about characters that I like have become so lackluster and uninteresting that I've started to think that the days may be numbered for "cape sh**."
In walks Peacemaker and says "hold my beer." This is really James Gunn at this best. While I don't often appreciate the fact that he has to make daddy issues a central theme in the things he does, here it actually works and feels pretty genuine. The humor, although somewhat relentless and juvenile, surprisingly works 99% of the time. If you liked his Suicide Squad, you should really like this (it's overall better, I would say). The chemistry between the different characters is mostly really good (especially between Peacemaker and Vigilante, which almost needs its own spin-off-of-a-spin-off, and I hate spin-offs).
The best part about the series, though, is the emotional core that holds it together, embodied in the meaningful arcs that are given to many of the characters, often in subtle ways. Cena really surprises with a great acting range, proving he can do action, comedy, and drama. I like that they took a character from Suicide Squad that seemed like a shallow-minded d-bag and turned him into a real person with a lot of pain and trauma that he has had to overcome. The way they treat the process of his growth is what makes this series stand out.
And of course, the real star, Eagley.

A follow up to THE Suicide Squad which I thought was mediocre, this was better than expected as of episode 3.
There a definitely negatives such as the 5th grade style humor. It interrupts the really good action/superhero stuff to try and get a laugh and banter (leave that stuff in the MCU) and the jokes that try to appeal to the twitter crowd.
The mystery aspect is good and episodes breeze by fast and look forward to seeing where it goes.

I went into this show not liking Peacemaker as a character AT ALL. I loved James Gunn's Suicide Squad movie and thought Peacemaker as a character served his purpose perfectly but I did not care for him one bit. So when I heard that of all the characters that could get a spin-off show it was going to be him, I was not too excited. But I finally gave the show a go and now I feel like I understand the character much more and am very excited for the next season! All the characters in this show are really the best part! They all feel very unique and interesting in their own ways, and their relationships to each other are really the heart of the show. The story itself is also really amazing! I was always very interested to know what was going to happen next, as there was a real sense of mystery surrounding almost all aspects of what the "bad guys" were, what they were up to and how to stop them. I also really loved the music choices, and the little segment they do for the theme song is hilarious! Overall a great show, if you like super hero stuff of any of James Gunn's other works, you will love this!

Okay, so where to start!
It's funny (in parts) but the jokes don't always land and sometimes seem infantile, even if you set your mind to it being as whacky as Suicide Squad.
I love swearing in my movies/TV shows and they use it to good effect here, but dare I say maybe too much!
It's well produced and the effects are brilliant, but these instances have been few and far between thus far. You can tell the budget is far superior to the CW shows.
But then it pretty much ends there as far as positives go. Firstly, the elephant in the room. Wokeness. It's really, really bad, like probably the worst I've ever seen and why the hell they felt the need to do this in a show like Peacemaker is beyond me, but man they have really gone for it.
Short of giving Robert Patrick the script from Blazing Saddles, they have made him look as bigoted as possible and went pretty far with Cena too!
The positive of this is that they have gone so heavy handed with it that it actually becomes funny and makes it difficult to tell if laughing at it was the goal!
They have turned Cena into an absolute plum. He's somehow now a dumb pu55y and acts like a 15 year old boy.
There is A LOT of oddly placed dancing and twirking throughout and you will almost certainly want to skip the opening credits after watching them once and wondering what the hell is going on!
Overall it's tonally very weird. I'll stick with it and look past all these things because DC is my absolute favourite franchise. If it was any other franchise I would have stopped after the first 15 minutes and never thought about it again, which is a shame. The Twitter mobs basically rule Hollywood now and are slowly destroying it. Why? Don't know! It clearly doesn't make money which is why they don't make specific cinema pandering to their needs, it doesn't sell, so it gets shoehorned into absolutely everything that does sell.

Terrific first ep. I didn't like his character at all in the movie but Cena shines here. Some really funny stuff and a spectacular fight at the end. The other characters including Eagly are immensely entertaining to watch. Hats off to all involved. Looking forward to the rest of eps.

...I'm not a John Cena fan... at all... and I didn't like The Suicide Squad movie, especially the Peacemaker character, that came across as an unbelievable dumb caricature.
But this show (based off the first 3 episodes released) is actually very good indeed.
It's a crazy, no holds barred thrill ride... and it is FUNNY.
Not to mention the soundtrack, which is just awesome!
It reminds me of the excellent Happy! Show in style and form, though a little less cartoonish (no pun intended).
If it keeps up this quality, it may just be one of the best superhero shows ever made.
For now, a solid 8... with expectations for more.
I highly recommend it.
Edit:
After watching the whole first season, I have upgraded it to a 10.
It truly is one of the funniest and best superhero shows ever made - I can't wait for season 2.
EAGLY FTW!
