The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease Camryn Grimes, who plays Mariah Copeland, goes from playing a creepy storyline there to a creepier one in a new horror film. She has landed a part in an upcoming film titled The Deceived, which is currently slated for release later this year.
The Young And The Restless – Interesting Parallels
The description of the new film shares interesting parallels with the storyline on Y & R that Mariah is closely involved in, her mother Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) spiraling.
In that storyline, Sharon has gone off her bipolar meds and is being deceived by a hallucination of Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby).
“The Deceived” is an intriguing new film crafted by the imaginative Aash Aaron, who takes on both directing and writing duties, with production led by Tim Wall.

Brooke Bowman has been promoted to executive vice president of drama development and programming at Fox Entertainment.
She succeeds Charlie Andrews in the role, with Andrews exiting the company. The parting with Andrews is said to be on good terms, with his contract simply coming to an end.
Bowman was previously senior vice president in the Fox drama department. She will now report directly to Michael Thorn, president of entertainment at Fox Entertainment. She will be based in Los Angeles.
“Brooke has been an important and trusted part of our team, playing an invaluable role in helping shape and implement our blueprint to expand and diversify Fox’s slate,” said Thorn. “Supremely creative, well-respected across town and fearless in taking big swings, she is primed to take over the reins; and I’m excited to have her alongside as we steer our drama strategy well into the future.”

Created by Melissa London Hilfers, Monarch is described as a Texas-sized, multigenerational musical drama about America’s first family of country music, the Romans. The Romans are headed by the insanely talented, but tough as nails Queen of Country Music Dottie Cantrell Roman (Sarandon). Along with her beloved husband, Albie (Adkins), Dottie has created a country music dynasty. But even though the Roman name is synonymous with authenticity, the very foundation of their success is a lie. Holder joins the cast as Kayla Taylor-Roman.

The closest thing to sports running on the Freeform cable network since it came under Disney ownership in 2001 might be “Make It Or Break It,” a soapy series about the lives of young gymnasts hoping to get to the Olympics. On Sunday, Freeform will really be taking the field.
Viewers who tune to Freeform looking for “Hunger Games,” “Alice in Wonderland” or one of the movies Freeform typically shows each weekend will at 1 p.m. tomorrow find themselves part of a massive sports play. Freeform will show –of all things — an NFL Wild Card match between the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans. Nickelodeon and Telemundo, two other TV outlets known for things other than sports, will also try football on for size this weekend.
“It’s an experiment. We’ve never done it before,” says Sarah Lindman, senior vice president of content planning and strategy at Freeform, in an interview.

This year, in films such as Perfect 10, Lynn + Lucy and County Lines, working-class lives are once again making it on to the big screen. But in an industry dominated by the privately educated, can they avoid being tainted with middle-class misapprehensions?
There are working-class heroes and there are unsung heroes. Take Lucy Pardee, the casting director of Rocks and Perfect 10, two of the year’s outstanding British films, both about working-class teenage girls. What Pardee does is traditionally called street casting – finding non-professional actors from backgrounds that don’t usually open doors to a career in the arts. (Her credits include films by Andrea Arnold and Jonathan Glazer).
To assemble the girl squad in Rocks, a gorgeously warm drama about teenage friendship in east London, Pardee went into 14 schools and auditioned 1,300 children. “I literally stood up in front of assemblies and said: ‘You might not see yourself on screen,...

To celebrate the release of Perfect 10, which opens on select streaming services this week, we sat down with the film’s writer/director and star about the moving new drama.
Set in Brighton, Perfect 10 tells the story of Leigh, a 14-year-old aspiring gymnast who is struggling to both find her place at the local gymnasiums and living with her neglectful father. Soon, her half-brother Joe (Alfie Deegan) shows up at her house one day to stay despite not knowing he even existed but who soon opens her eyes to the thrill and dangers of moped crime – and growing up.
Riley, making her feature debut, spoke to us about the film’s themes of finding your place at a young age and how influences can alter the course of your life in different ways as well as the challenges of making the film on location in just under a month.

Road-rage thriller “Unhinged,” starring Russell Crowe, topped the U.K. and Ireland box office over the weekend collecting £175,263, according to final numbers released by Comscore.
The film, released by Altitude Film Distribution, played at 243 locations, marking a cautious return by audiences to cinemas, despite the territory being in the middle of a heat wave.
“Over the past few months we have shared the well-publicized concern about the state and future of cinema and the arts. Whilst this remains unclear as we all learn to cope with Covid-19, we’re encouraged by the support ‘Unhinged’ received from cinemas and audiences in its opening weekend,” said Altitude, which last month released killer croc thriller “Black Water: Abyss” and Jacki Weaver and Lucy Liu comedy “Stage Mother.” In the coming weeks, the distributor is set to release Ladj Ly’s “Les Miserables.”

The night before most singers put out an album, tradition dictates that they spend some time promoting their new work. Music is a business, after all, and listeners can’t stream or buy your songs if they don’t know that those songs exist.
It would be generous to say that the R&B veteran Keith Sweat looks on that promotional tradition with blithe indifference. “They keep telling me to sing something from the new shit,” he complained during his album release show at the iHeartRadio Theater in downtown Manhattan last Thursday.
