Granted, I can't really say that I was exactly harboring a whole lot of expectations to this 2023 action thriller starring Luke Wilson, Dolph Lundgren and Brendan Fehr. But still, I opted to watch it, since I had the opportunity to do so, and because I hadn't already seen the movie.
The storyline in "The Best Man" was bland and generic, so very, very generic. I am rather impressed that three writers could collectively manage to put together something so bland. Writers C. Alec Rossel, Shane Dax Taylor and Daniel Zirilli didn't impress me with this movie, and it made for a very forgettable action thriller movie experience.
The acting performances in "The Best Man" were as you would assume they would be for a movie of this type, genre and caliber. You're not in for an evening of Shakespearian theater here, that's for sure. Not that I was expecting such, anyway.
For an action thriller then "The Best Man" came and went without leaving much of a lasting impression. Sure, I managed to sit through the entire 93 minutes that director Shane Dax Taylor presented, but I was only mildly entertained. This is hardly a movie that warrants more than just a single viewing.
My rating of "The Best Man" lands on a three out of ten stars.
