Ten years after disappearing, Rudy calls his mother to announce he'll be coming home. Maria suffers a stroke as a row erupts between André and Rudy at the welcome party. Luc feints a stroke too and sets out to find Maria in hospital.
Mike's plans to take over the business are thwarted by Rudy's return. Moemoe is allowed to leave the hospital. André immediately takes the opportunity to make final arrangements.
André tries to get Luc on his side with a gift. Rudy's attempts to become a good butcher again are not very successful. Joepie, the family dog, allows Luc and Rudy to get to know a different side of André.
André and Liliane are both turning fifty. Rudy gives them a weekend at the sea as a gift, where they finally have to make some time for each other. In the meantime, he keeps the butcher's shop running with Anke, Mike and Luc.
One weekend a year, the 'real Vangenechten' tripe is available, a specialty for generations. Because of Maurice, not only the annual tripe fair, but also the survival of the butcher's shop is at risk.
Maurice withdraws the complaint against André and then spends the night with him in the forest. During the night, André has to make the Vangenechten tripe for the annual fair. Since he's in the woods, Rudi wants to make the tripe.
