After witnessing the death of his partner in a shootout, Baltimore police detective Nate Burke (Eddie Cibrian]) takes a job as chief of police in Lunacy, a small town in Alaska. Almost from the moment he sets foot in Alaskan snow, Nate is attracted to the bush pilot Meg Galligan (LeAnn Rimes), daughter of the owner of the lodge where he's staying. When Nate and Meg are sent out to locate two climbers on Mt No Name, they find a third body in an ice cave. The body turns out to belong to Meg's father Pat (Stephen Huszar), who disappeared some 15 years ago and was thought to have run off to Anchorage. However, the ice axe in his chest tells another story, and now it's on Nate's shoulders to find out which of Lunacy's colorful characters murdered him.
