After what has felt like one of the longest political cycles ever, election day has finally arrived as voters across the US take to the polls to cast their votes in the 2024 Presidential Election.
Regardless of your party affiliation, we can all agree that this election day is one of the most stressful election days we’ve ever experienced. There is a lot riding on this election and the stress of waiting to see if your candidate wins can be a lot, especially when every network turns over its normal primetime lineup to special coverage of the election results. Add in social media where commentary is running rampant, and it can be a lot, to say the least.
If you’re looking to distract yourself from the election night news coverage airing across broadcast and cable in the evening, might we suggest one of these amazing light-hearted series that are...

10 Teachers from TV You Wish Were at Your School - Main Image
While there will always be shows about young adults figuring out their lives, the spotlight is barely shone on teachers—essential people in real-life who help guide their students to be become who they were meant to be.
Over the decades there have been some great teachers on television who are also meant to impart wisdom not just on the series characters, but the audience as well; and here’s a list of some of our favorites that we wish were in the faculty when we were going to school.
Janine Teagues (Abbott Elementary)
No doubt the most idealistic character on the list. Abbott Elementary’s Janine Teagues is a driven teacher who believes in the mission of her work, and every episode audiences get to watch as Janine tries to provide quality education to kids while having...

If there’s any show that nails the spirit of Halloween, it’s Modern Family. The sitcom gave us amazing storylines surrounding the holiday, while also introducing us to some fun costume ideas. In the eleven seasons of the show, seven episodes included the spooky theme of Halloween in it. The Dunphy family is usually at the center of planning the celebrations due to Claire’s obsession with the holiday.

Sarah Hyland is bravely speaking out, and thanking Julie Bowen.
During an acceptance speech for the first-ever Courage Award from Variety, the 33-year-old Modern Family star spoke about being a survivor of domestic violence.
“For thousands of years now, we didn’t talk about it,” she said of enduring domestic violence.
“The community hasn’t shared enough, I believe. And I feel that if we talk about it more, more women — and men and just human beings in general in abusive relationships — will feel more comfortable to be able to talk about it with their loved ones instead of letting their abuser isolate them from everyone, which is the first thing that they do, so that you don’t have that community,” she went on.
Sarah said that “talking about it” is “really important” to helping those in need, and discussed how Ptsd often affects survivors long after the abusive relationship.

The following post contains discussions of domestic abuse. Sarah Hyland has opened up about surviving domestic abuse, sharing that the trauma she’s carrying “scars her soul” in a deeply candid new interview published on Thursday (October 24). In September 2014, the actress, who portrayed Haley Dumphy on ABC’s Modern Family, was granted a three-year restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, former actor Matt Prokop, over claims he verbally and physically abused her throughout their five-year relationship. Hyland also accused her Geek Charming co-star, who also appeared on an episode of her ABC comedy, of choking her and threatening her dog’s life, according to Page Six. “His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life,” she recalled in the filing at the time. In a new Variety cover story, the 33-year-old shared, “[The Ptsd stays] in that abused place of your soul,...

For today’s Gen-z kids, The Big Bang Theory and Friends might be some of the shows that they feel are iconic. But long back in the 80s, aired a show that changed the definition of sitcoms and grew a massive fan base across the US.
Yes, we are talking about NBC’s Cheers, which ran successfully from 1982 until its series finale in 1993. Critically acclaimed and loved by many during its original run, the series is one of the best sitcoms.
Cheers is hilarious, intelligent, fast-paced, heartfelt, peopled by unforgettable characters, and consistently good. The story revolves around a Boston bar, owned by Sam Malone (Ted Danson), a former relief pitcher, and has several other main characters, who either work in the bar or visit it regularly.
Decades later after its final run, let’s take a look at where some of the Cheers‘ major cast members are now!

“Modern Family” star and “Love Island USA” host Sarah Hyland spoke Thursday night in Los Angeles at the annual gala for Variety Power of Women presented by Lifetime. In her speech, the four-time SAG Award winner was honored at the event with the inaugural Variety Courage Award presented by Purina, for her work to increase awareness around animal welfare and domestic abuse.
“Accepting this award for courage has made me think about what that word means to me. It takes courage to wake up every morning and face the world knowing that people may have no idea what you are going through,” Hyland said in her speech. “It’s all too easy to feel isolated and misunderstood, no matter how strong you are.”
Hyland went on to praise the award’s sponsor, Purina, and its animal rights activist partner RedRover for their Purple Leash Project, which helps domestic violence shelters become “pet-friendly.

For more than a decade, the cast of Modern Family entertained fans with their shenanigans. Featuring a dysfunctional family that was relatable to the max, the ABC sitcom saw the story of the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker family and their lives in LA. The show won several Primetime Emmys during its run, including Outstanding Comedy Series five times.
It has been four years since the final episode of the sitcom aired and fans have definitely missed the family a lot. Many child actors grew up with the show and have gone on to graduate in their careers. The adults have since gone on to work on several other projects. On Elsbeth Season 2 Episode 2, “Fly Me to the Moon” takes on a whole new meaning. Now that rich people have conquered Earth, their next venture is space.
From what we can gather from the promo for the next episode, there’s murder afoot at a space training station, but not for astronauts. No, it’s for “private citizens.” Because that’s what space needs.
Leave it to Elsbeth to continue its trend of truly bizarre murder situations. The series knows its strength lies in how well it incorporates campy elements.
(Michael Parmelee/CBS)
As always, the show leads with its episodic killer with all the grace and subtlety of a sledgehammer. That is also on my murder bingo card for possible Elsbeth Season 2 weapons.

Modern Family is hands down one of the best American sitcoms of modern times. It was certainly incredible watching all the actors grow up on set while sharing some of their most iconic moments in front of the camera, together. And surely, when they first met each other before the show turned into what it was, they probably didn’t know they’d hit it off so well!

The 54-year-old actress played Claire Dunphy on the sitcom, which aired between 2009 and 2020.
Earlier this year, she reunited with costars Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet at the 2024 SAG Awards. The group joked around about rebooting the series on the stage. Is that actually a possibility?

Speaking to the New York Post, Julie confirmed that she was interested in returning to the show.
“Of course, I would be game. I can’t imagine any of us wouldn’t be. We’re stupid for each other,” she said.
However, she added that she had “no idea” if it would actually happen, explaining “You know, that’s up to [Steven] Levitan and [Christophoer] Lloyd [series creators] in the end.”

That was just about the most Elsbeth opening to an episode ever! We’re back, baby, and the skies have never been campier.
It’s wild to think it’s been over seven months since the titular character sashayed onto TV screens with her own series. It’s like no time has passed.
Hats off to the Elsbeth writers for the meta-approach to acknowledging the break between seasons.
(Michael Parmelee/CBS)
Did you catch Kaya and Elsbeth talking about how surprisingly slow the last few months had been? I love a tip-toe take on breaking the fourth wall.
And a big round of applause for Elsbeth bringing back familiar faces.

Just months after “Young Sheldon” aired its series finale, favorites Georgie and Mandy are back for yet another spinoff.
Titled “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” the new CBS sitcom will see Montana Jordan and Emily Osment reprise their “Young Sheldon” roles as Georgie and Mandy, respectively, as the young couple navigates marriage and parenting.
This time, Georgie and Mandy have packed their bags and headed to live with Mandy’s parents, played by Will Sasso and Rachel Bay Jones, who have both appeared in “Young Sheldon.” They will also be joined by some newcomers to the “Big Bang Theory” universe.
For the full breakdown on which “Young Sheldon” characters will be returning — and where you’ve seen them before — keep on reading.

One month after “Hacks” surprised awards pundits everywhere by winning the Best Comedy Series trophy at the Emmys over “The Bear,” the Max laffer has now officially overtaken the FX cooking show in our Golden Globe odds.
The third season of “Hacks” currently enjoys 37/10 odds to win Best Comedy Series at the Globes, compared to the third season of “The Bear’s” second-place odds of 4/1. The former followed Deborah Vance’s (Jean Smart) journey of trying to become the first female late-night host, while the latter focused on the opening of Carmy’s (Jeremy Allen White) fine dining restaurant in Chicago.
These two front-runners are followed in our Golden Globe predictions by “Only Murders in the Building” Season 4 at 5/1 odds, “Abbott Elementary” Season 4 at 6/1 odds, “Shrinking” Season 2 at 9/1 odds, and “Palm Royale” Season 1 at 16/1 odds.

Julie Bowen didn’t think she was funny enough to land Modern Family, the actress said this week.
“I was like, ‘I can’t tell a joke, I’m not funny,” Bowen recalled during an appearance on The Three Questions with Andy Richter.
The actress played Claire Dunphy on Modern Family, which ran for 11 seasons from 2009 to 2020 and is widely regarded as one of this century’s best sitcoms. As a result, Bowen is well-known for her comedy chops today.
Nevertheless, the actress almost didn’t audition for the role. At the time she told her team, “Don’t give me those three-jokes-a-page kind of things.”
Luckily, her managers pushed back and told her, “You know what? Helen Hunt isn’t funny.” Hunt charmed audiences as Jamie in Mad About You, which ran for seven seasons in the 1990s and then returned for an eighth in 2019.

The second major spin-off of "The Big Bang Theory" — which itself is a spin-off of the spin-off "Young Sheldon" — gives away the game right there in the title. "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" gives Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and his wife Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment), who got married in season 7 of "Young Sheldon," the spotlight as they try to navigate a life together as young parents. The thing is because Chuck Lorre keeps expanding the Sheldon Cooper Cinematic Universe (the Sccu?) even though Sheldon Cooper's future is firmly established thanks to The Big Bang Theory — where Jim Parsons plays Sheldon — we already know that Georgie gets married and divorced twice, hence the words "first marriage" in that title.
"Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" premieres on October 17 on CBS and is set to bring back a bunch of "Young Sheldon" veterans, not to mention adding in some new faces — and...

Before it became a Broadway smash hit, “The Book of Mormon” could have gone animated.
Josh Gad, who originated the role of Elder Arnold Cunningham in the 2011 production, said during Sony Music Entertainment’s “Dinner’s On Me” podcast that co-writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone originally set out to make “Book of Mormon” in the vein of beloved animated satirical film “Team America: World Police.”
However, after the live reading of the script, it became clear that “Book of Mormon” was best suited to Broadway.
“Trey and Matt thought that they were going to do it as an animated film. It was going to be their follow up to ‘Team America.’ And we ended it,” Gad said to host Jesse Tyler Ferguson. “The response was effusive. I’ll be it, people were definitely taken aback and shocked. And they had a huddle and they decided in that moment, let...

Julie Bowen looks back at her start in comedy and reveals that she didn’t think she was funny.
In a new interview, the Modern Family star recalled her team booking auditions for comedic roles, which Bowen didn’t think were suited for her.
“They sent me out on comedy auditions,” she said on The Three Questions with Andy Richter. “I was like, ‘I can’t tell a joke, I’m not funny — don’t give me those three-jokes-a-page kind of things.”
She continued, “And my managers were always very supportive, like, ‘You know what? Helen Hunt isn’t funny.’ I go, ‘What?’ They’re like, ‘Not technically.'”
“I said, ‘She just won like five Emmys.’ They’re like, ‘Yes. So she’s funny in a different way. She’s not three-jokes-a-page funny. And yet she is wildly funny. Try to be Helen Hunt,'” Bowen said.

When it premiered in early 2023, the Apple TV+ series “Shrinking” impressed most notably in its ability to seamlessly mix humor and a very serious subject matter.
Therapist and walking, talking Hipaa violation Jimmy (Jason Segel) mostly avoided confronting his trauma after his wife Tia was killed by a drunken driver by finding unorthodox, often unethical new ways for his patients to confront their own. Deft writing allowed grief, Ptsd and antisocial and compulsive behaviors to be handled comedically without the people involved being butts of jokes.
Moreover, Jimmy was essentially an antihero buffered by our residual affection for Segel from his more vulnerable performances on “How I Met Your Mother” and in film roles. In addition to audience goodwill, Jimmy was ensconced in the friendship, community and wisecracks of his fellow characters. But the sometimes pointed nature of those wisecracks, by the friends and neighbors who cared for Jimmy’s teenage daughter,...

Sofia Vergara has played some insanely iconic roles over the years but she’s most known for playing the incredibly naive and yet feisty Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on Modern Family. This project helped the 52-year-old find a place in the industry, which also eventually kickstarted the launch of various business ventures that helped her become one of the most successful actresses today.

Despite being booked for roles in successful movies such as The Smurfs, Chef, and Despicable Me, while being recruited as a judge on America’s Got Talent, Vergara had one story that captured her heart, the story of Griselda Blanco, a Columbian drug lord.
Vergara ultimately turned it into a passion project and approached Narcos’ Eric Newman to produce the show with Netflix. Little did she know, Griselda would lead to one of her life’s lowest points.

Ever since The Office ended in 2012, other shows have done their best to follow in its footsteps. The biggest reason The Office worked so well is that it followed a mockumentary-style dynamic. Nine seasons of The Office shed light on the mundane lives of a random group of employees working at a paper company. Other TV shows that have emulated The Office‘s magic include Modern Family, Abbott Elementary, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Now, the most recent show to hop on this bandwagon is called St. Denis Medical. This time around, the mockumentary-style show will follow a group of doctors and nurses working at a hospital.
Details About St. Denis Medical
The first episode of St. Denis Medical will premiere on November 12, 2024, on NBC. The show starts with a bang since the first two episodes will air back-to-back. Anyone who enjoys medical-themed entertainment will likely find amusement in this show. St. Denis Medical...

We are all familiar with Billie Eilish. This American singer has captured the hearts of millions across the globe with her memorable words and trance-laced voice. As far as models and celebrities are concerned, plastic surgery is not taboo anymore. The concept of going under the knife has been around for decades, only recently becoming popular enough to admit to it publicly. With the age-defying miracle, stars like Sofía Vergara and Gwyneth Paltrow have become increasingly comfortable in advocating surgery as a means to feel more comfortable in their own skin.

While a growing number of actresses have been vocal about the process, internet sleuths and doctors on TikTok have pointed out actors as well who are possibly resorting to botox injections to look younger than their age may permit. Recent claims have been made about Ryan Gosling and Tom Cruise although there has never been any actual evidence to support the allegations.

Matthew Broderick appears to be a serial guest star, with appearances in recent years on Only Murders in the Building, Rick and Morty and Modern Family. But he never turned up on Sex and the City, despite his wife Sarah Jessica Parker being the series star. What’s the deal, Broderick?
There are a couple of reasons, he told James Corden on his This Life of Mine Sirius Xm Show (via People). Scheduling conflicts were one. “Whenever there was a part that I could do,” he claimed, “I couldn’t do it is really all that happened.”
But it might have had more to do with a second reason — the kinds of roles the show was offering him. “Sometimes, it was like, ‘Do you want to do two days as the premature ejaculator?’ And I’d be like, ‘You know, I don’t know, it’s just kind of embarrassing.
