The film was influenced by revenge heist thrillers such as John Boorman's Point Blank (1967) starring Lee Marvin and Brian Helgeland's Payback (1999) starring Mel Gibson.

The film features cartoon clips from The Brementown Musicians (1935) and Simple Simon (1935), which were both produced by Ub Iwerks.

Director Tibor Takács worked again with actor Cam Gigandet on his next feature Black Warrant (2022).
