Comedy Dynamics has acquired Michael and Thomas Matthews’ feature film Lost Holiday, starring Kate Lyn Sheil, William Jackson Harper, Keith Poulson and Josh Leonard. The comedy also features the voice of Emily Mortimer. Comedy Dynamics will release the film through its video platform network along with a limited theatrical bow which will be announced at a later date.

Lost Holiday follows Margaret, a young social worker who is home for the holidays with nothing to do until she and her high school best friend get in over their heads when they try to solve the kidnapping of a Washington DC socialite.

The deal was negotiated by Anna Roberts of Comedy Dynamics and Ryan Kampe of Visit Films.

Kevin James’ new sitcom “Kevin Can Wait” debuted to strong ratings, proving that the comedian’s fan base is still intact. Now the actor is going from retired policeman to international hitman in his upcoming Netflix comedy “True Memoirs of an International Assassin.”

Directed by “Kick-Ass 2” helmer Jeff Wadlow and written by Jeff Morris, the film follows an aspiring writer whose life is changed after his fictional novel about a deadly assassin is published as nonfiction. UK sales outfit Carnaby International has inked a string of deals at the American Film Market (Afm) on titles including Mercury Plains, Fall Of The Krays and The Truth Commissioner.

Scott Eastwood action-adventure Mercury Plains has sold to Germany (Lighthouse), Australia (Eagle Entertainment) and Middle East (International Film Distribution).

UK coming-of-age drama Kids In Love, starring Will Poulter and Cara Delevigne, has been picked up by Factoris Films for France.

Thriller Blood Orange, starring Iggy Pop, was picked up for Us distribution by Invincible Picture.

The film was also taken by Sky Television Network for New Zealand, which also bagged rights to quintet North Vs South, Four, The Truth Commissioner, Winter and Casual Encounters.

Completed UK drama North Vs South also sold to Benelux (One 2 See) while drama Art Of Living went to Cinesky for Airline rights.

Exclusive: Grindstone picks up gangster crime-drama.

Grindstone Entertainment Group has picked up North American distribution rights to gangster drama Rise Of The Krays from Carnaby International.

Simon Cotton (The Dark Hours), Kevin Leslie (The Third Testament) and Phil Dunster (The Filmmaker’s Son) star in the film, which charts the climb to power of the legendary East End twins.

Grindstone has earmarked a February 2016release with Lionsgate Home Entertainment handling distribution.

The deal was struck between Carnaby International’s director of international sales Tania Sarra and Grindstone’s head of acquisitions, Stan Wertlieb.

“The Krays are truly international criminal legends. This gutsy and gritty film tells the powerful story of their violent rampage to the top of the underworld. A ‘must see’ for true crime story fans,” said Wertlieb.

Exclusive: Signature takes UK rights to gangster sequel.

Carnaby has taken world sales rights to action crime-thriller sequel Rise of the Footsoldier Part II, starring Ricci Harnett (28 Days Later), Luke Malby (The Prince and Me) and Steven Berkoff (Red 2).

Signature Entertainment has snapped up UK distribution rights in a deal secured by Carnaby’s joint CEO, Andrew Loveday, together with Signature’s CEO, Marc Goldberg.

Carnaby will have extended promo footage of the title about a man who must fight to regain his place in the criminal underworld in Cannes.

The first Rise of the Footsoldier has sold close to 1 million copies in the UK.

Also new to Carnaby’s slate is Charles Burmeister’s action-thriller Mercury Plains, set to star Scot Eastwood (Gran Torino), Nick Chinlund (Con Air) and Angela Sarafyan (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn); crime-thriller North V South, produced by Mark Foligno; and fantasy-adventure Arthur & Merlin.

Scott Eastwood, the youngest son of actor/director Clint Eastwood, has joined the cast of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, Deadline reports. The film will be directed by John Luessenhop (Takers) and is set to take place after Tobe Hooper's original 1974 horror classic. The script was penned by Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan, and polished by Kirsten Elms and Luessenhop. 

Massacre 3D is being produced by Carl Mazzocone and exec produced by Avi Lerner and Mark Burg. The goal is for the film to help launch a new fright franchise featuring the iconic, chainsaw-loving villain Leatherface and his oddball family. Filming begins this week in Shreveport, Louisiana, to meet it's Oct. 5, 2012 scheduled release date. 

Eastwood recently completed the Charles Burmeister-directed Epic, the Jack Heller-directed Enter Nowhere and the Lawrence Roeck-directed Carmel. He has also starring roles in films directed by his father, including Invictus, Gran Torino and Flags of Our Fathers.

Yeah, you probably would. And that's exactly what's going to happen as Scott Eastwood is set to face the saw in the new 3D adventures of everyone's favorite Texas family, according to Deadline.

Eastwood joins "Percy Jackson" star Alexandra Daddario in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D," a rebooted slaughter of sorts that takes place shortly after the events of director Tobe Hooper's original 1974 nightmare. The film will be directed by John Luessenhop ("Takers") and begins production this week in Louisiana.

No word yet on who will be playing the new Leatherface, though we expect it will probably be a rather large fella.

Does the world really need more 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' remakes? In 3D?

Maybe if they star Scott Eastwood, who happens to be the really, really ridiculously good looking son of Clint Eastwood.

The younger Eastwood has previously acted in some of his dad's films, including 'Invictus', 'Gran Torino' and 'Flags of Our Fathers,' as well as the indies 'Epic,' 'Enter Nowhere' and 'Carmel.'

Now Scott (formerly billed as Scott Reeves) is taking the lead in the Lionsgate horror reboot that's planned as a trilogy. Production on the umpteenth chainsaw massacre will begin this week in Louisiana.
