If you, like me, missed the 2008 Jason Statham medieval action flick In the Name of the King (based on the Dungeon Siege video games) then you probably also missed its less “prestigious” 2011 sequel In the Name of the King 2: Two Worlds. All of which to say, you probably were not holding out for the rumored threequel In the Name of the King 3: The Last Mission starring Prison Break’s Dominic Purcell, which has finally been released on Blu-ray. Nevertheless, Uwe Boll’s tireless series continues to adapt this medieval video game series.

In The Name Of The King: Two Worlds
Stars: Dolph Lundgren, Lochlyn Munro, Natassia Malthe | Written by Michael Nachoff | Directed by Uwe Boll
In the Name of the King: Two Worlds stars legendary movie hard-man Dolph Lundgren as Granger, a lethal ex-forces soldier transported back in time to fulfil an ancient prophecy and defeat the threatening forces of darkness, in a mystical age where dragons scorch the skies and the only way to fight is in brutal hand-to-hand combat. But as he fights his way to the truth and to get back home Granger learns that one wrong move could cost him not only his life, but the very future of his world.
Taking over the Uwe Boll directed franchise from his Expendables co-star Jason Statham, Lundgren walks his way through this unwanted sequel to the less-than-stellar original film which was itself based on the Dungeon Siege video game series.

Last time we mentioned Tom Six, we were, somewhat bizarrely, upbraided on the Empire forum for never talking about Uwe Boll. Au contraire, nos amis. Eighteen months ago we brought you the amazing news that Dolph Lundgren would be turning out for Boll’s second Dungeon Siege tale In The Name Of The King: Two Worlds, following the 2007 original starring Jason Statham and Ron Perlman. And now, heralding the sequel’s Blu-ray and DVD release (in a stunning lenticular sleeve), we’ve got a couple of clips for you.Given the forest-bound action in both, you might possibly surmise that you were watching two chunks of the same scene. But thrice nay! These events happen about an hour apart. The dragon bit comes after the men-with-swords bit. Dolph does not have a sword, but it’s Ok because he can hit people in the face. brightcove.createExperiences(); “Dolph Lundgren is a cop,...

German director Uwe Boll is being sued for $1 million for "insulting" a producer on In the Name of the King: Two Worlds by misspelling the producer's name in the credits. Rob Van Ronkel filed the case in Los Angeles Superior Court and claims that the misspelling was not an accident. The producer says that he was a big part of the film by convincing Dolph Lundgren to star, but he got into a fight with Boll over his producer's fee. His credit was stripped before the sides worked out a compromise whereby Van Ronkel got an associate producer credit

DVD or Blu-ray? Redbox or Netflix? Streaming? Whatever your poison, here's the breakdown on all the week's new releases, from Joseph Gordon-Levitt's acclaimed cancer comedy to punching robots and totally 80s ghosts. Moviefone's Pick of the Week "50/50" What's It About? Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as a young man stricken with a bout of rare cancer; the film chronicles his attempted path to recovery and the complex emotional relationships he has with friends, family and lovers. See It Because: "50/50" is a real look at the physical and emotional struggle of fighting cancer; based on writer Will Reiser's own experiences with the disease, the movie is able to articulate the frustration, anger and fear that can come from the ordeal, without turning it into a corny melodrama that doesn't sound like the real conversations people have. Plus, it's not afraid to laugh at the situation, and it does a damn good job at being funny.

To call a Uwe Boll movie bad would belabor a conversation long since over; to call it anything else would make you a dirty, dirty liar. At the very least, Dolph Lundgren's around to make it all a little more agreeable, but nothing will change the fact that In the Name of the King 2: Two Worlds is a direct-to-video sequel shepherded by the man commonly referred to as the world's worst living director. Thrill-seekers venture if you must, but everyone else should feel free to judge this book by its cover.

Uwe Boll's In The Name of the King 2: Two Worlds was recently released on Blu-ray and DVD. Dolph Lundgren, Natassia Malthe, and Lochlyn Munro star in this film about an ex-Special Forces soldier who travels back to medieval times to fulfill an ancient prophecy. In the process, he ends up finding redemption for his own battlefield experiences.
Aside from being a medieval fantasy action film directed by Boll, Two Worlds has nothing to do with the first film. This is an unnecessary sequel to In The Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale. That film starred Jason Statham, Claire Forlani, and Burt Reynolds and is one of Boll's better films (if that is possible).
Two Worlds is bad on so many levels, that it is almost good. If you are familiar with Boll's previous work, you will know exactly what to expect. The bad script, poor choreography,...

Having spent the last year sat in screening rooms and cinemas watching over 200 of 2011′s cinematic offerings, it stands to reason that I’m going to have to sit through a fair share of duds. As I had seen the vast majority of the key Oscar plays before November, I spent the latter part of the year dedicating myself to seeking out the worst, most lowest common denominator fare ripe for a skewering, and with these twenty dreadful pictures, we have what are, in my opinion, the 20 biggest train wrecks of 2011. Note that Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star is still awaiting worldwide DVD release and didn’t get distribution in the U.K., so that’s one that I was forced to avoid, but I’m assured that it’s irredeemably horrible nevertheless. Anyway, on with the list…

There aren't a ton of noteworthy releases to spend your leftover Christmas money and gift cards on this week, but if you're a horror fan there just might be a few titles of interest to you. The biggest release of the week is Final Destination 5, which seems to have appeased fans more than the previous installment in the franchise, along with the found footage lunar landing horror flick Apollo 18. Direct-to-dvd sequel Hostel: Part III also hits stores today, as does the crowd-funded Australian horror film The Tunnel and Uwe Boll's Dungeon Siege sequel In The Name of the King 2: Two Worlds starring Dolph Lundgren. Other options include the Jason Sudeikis comedy A Good Old Fashioned Orgy and Rowan Joffe's crime thriller Brighton Rock, but your best bet probably lies with this week's TV releases: Shameless: The Complete First Season, Archer: Season 2 and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret...

Final Destination 5 I enjoyed this movie for the short time I was in the theater, but I had to look back at my review for any kind of reminder as to how things played out, which is to say it's decent but forgettable. I did enjoy the ending and there were a few fun kills in 3D, which I imagine will look even more silly at home, but then again I hope you aren't considering buying this one as a rental will more than suffice.
Apollo 18 I don't believe a single good thing was said about this film, which bounced all around the release calendar before finally settling on a release date earlier this September. Three months later and here it is and I'm sure you could find far better ways to spend your Christmas money.

German-born director Uwe Boll is a throwback of sorts to the pioneers of traveling, self-distributed filmmaking — part storyteller, (perhaps much larger) part huckster. Whatever one thinks of him, he is certainly prolific, cranking out around three movies a year over the last half-decade. Brent Simon recently had a chance to speak with the inimitable Boll about his new film ”In the Name of the King 2,” U.S. presidential politics, his passion project “Bailout,” which 2011 box office hit he can’t believe made so much money, and how his wife doesn’t like his movies. The conversation is excerpted below: ShockYa: ”In the Name of the King 2″ speaks a lot of prophesy and destiny,...

Director Uwe Boll is no stranger to video games or controversy but remains indefatigable and is back next week with In the Name of the King: Two Worlds, his sequel to the 2006 film he made based on the Dungeon Siege video games. The new film, his twenty-fifth, stars action hero Dolph Lundgren and is a direct-to-video release from Twentieth Century Home Entertainment.

German director Uwe Boll is like the Roger Corman of video game movies. He churns them out like a factory - and he knows it. But it is hard to hate his movies because the man is just a delight to speak with. We spoke recently about his newest film, In the Name of the King 2, and talked about working with Dolph Lundgren, time travel, budgets and, of course, sex. In the Name of the King 2 doesn't really feel much like a sequel, and it certainly doesn't fit in with the video game. What is the reasoning behind this? We are not really oriented with the video game anymore. The tie-in is with the movie, the first one. It is 50 years later because we know, budget-wise, we cannot compete with the first one. We felt...

*a DVD screener of this film was provided by Phase 4 Films.
Director: Uwe Boll.
Writer: Michael Nachoff.
In the Name of the King 2: Two Worlds is a sequel to the 2007 film starring Jason Statham. Here, Dolph Lundgren plays the hero, Granger. Other changes include fewer actors overall in this second film, fewer sets and fewer named actors and actresses. From director Uwe Boll, this film is likely targeted to 12 to 15 year old boys, Larpers or Boll fans. Others might find this sword and sandal styled film only lightly entertaining.
The story follows your usual fantasy film with a hero setting things right in a darkened kingdom. A double-talking king, Raven (Lochlyn Munro) sets the "chosen one" (Lundgren) to track down the "old mother" for assassination. The "dark ones" hinder his progress and when he meets the old crone, his eyes are opened to Raven's double-dealing ways. Then, enter...
