They made an effort to bring a movie that could have been good in terms of plot to below average. It is partially effective and makes a good start. Young people go into a basement they shouldn't go into and play with a bottle they shouldn't touch. So they already deserve what they get. The movie is too long, with unnecessarily prolonged dialogues and scenes. The acting is inadequate and not effective. The characters are not the types you care about, so you expect them to die one by one, but the deaths are simple. The basement looks mysterious as a decor and the scenes where they play spin the bottle are entertaining. The music speeds up the slow pace a bit. Why does one of the characters take the bottle with it? Why does another character, who only sees a normal girl's face in the car, react by screaming so much. It's pointless and exaggerated. Too much emphasis is placed on the dialogues of the characters and therefore the horror, especially the bottle incident, is weak and inferior. They think of nothing but kissing while playing the game. They could have made an effective production on this subject.
