Animation for this series was done by Boulder Media Limited in Ireland.

While creators Jed Elinoff & Scott Thomas have had prior animation work before this show as writers, all their work as producers and creators have been live-action programs such as Best Friends Whenever (2015) and Raven's Home (2017). Jhonen Vasquez did character design work for this under a pseudonym; while he's worked in kids' material before and since, this series is notably Lighter and Softer than most of his work.

James Arnold Taylor was considered for the voice of Randy, and he recorded dialogue for a few episodes before Ben Schwartz was cast.

Aside from being the creators, executive producers, writers, and additional voice actors of the show, Jed Einoff and Scott Thomas appear as teenage-version of themselves in the background throughout several episodes.

Ben Cross took over as the voice of The Sorcerer in season 2, after Tim Curry suffered a stroke.
