TwitchCon, the semi-annual convention for the live-streaming video platform Twitch, is set to return to the San Diego Convention Center. The exciting event will kick off on 20th September and conclude on 22nd September.

Arrowhead Game Studios is set to put Helldivers 2 back on track after a rocky post-launch period. The studio has listened to its community, and it might give the game an update similar to Cyberpunk 2077’s famous revival. After months of discontent over weapon nerfs, Helldivers 2 is on the path to redemption with its upcoming patch, scheduled for September 17.

The centerpiece of this effort is the flamethrower, a fan-favorite weapon that recently suffered from nerfs that the community wasn’t quite approving of. Arrowhead hopes to win back players who have been frustrated with the game’s balancing issues over the past few months.

That American Auto and Superstore share DNA is indisputable: Both are NBC workplace comedies created by Justin Spitzer that take place in the Midwest. It makes sense that Spitzer would also bring some of the same actors from one show to the next, and while some of that crossover is more obvious, eagle-eyed fans were also quick to spot Jon Miyahara, who played Brett on Superstore, in the background of several scenes throughout American Auto. The March 28 episode “Passion Project” may have just confirmed that he’s playing the very same Brett who silently sulked through Cloud 9.

Superstore ended in 2021 after six seasons. Fans were sad to see the series go and certainly believed that the employees of Cloud 9 had more stories to tell. At least one cast member agrees. Jon Barinholtz, the actor who portrayed Marcus White in the series, would be onboard for a Superstore reunion. The beloved NBC show still has fans.

Why was ‘Superstore’ canceled?

In 2020, NBC shocked Superstore fans when it announced that season 6 would be the series’ last. The cancelation came as a big surprise. Superstore had done fairly well for NBC, and fans were still attracted to the show week after week.

While NBC never gave a definitive reason for the cancelation, industry experts are pretty certain America Ferrera’s decision to leave the series greatly impacted when and where it ended. According to Newsweek, Ferrera’s departure signaled to NBC that it was time to wrap things up.

As previously reported, Superstore co-executive producers Bridget Kyle and Vicky Luu were tapped to write a pilot script in December, which would have centered on the titular couple as they “balance their big dreams with the harsh realities of being a blue-collar family in America.” A script was written, but NBC decided against moving forward.

In the Season 6 episode of “Superstore” titled “Customer Appreciation,” Jonah (Ben Feldman) gets put in his place.

The corporate executives at Zephra — a tech conglomerate that owns the Cloud 9 superstore chain — have been stressing the importance of customer appreciation surveys, using those oft-ignored links at the bottom of every receipt to rank the efficiency, popularity, and general value of each store — never mind that, as Dina (Lauren Ash) says, people only use receipts “to spit out gum and for murder alibis.”

Still, if that’s what matters to corporate, that’s what matters to the workers. Cheyanne (Nichole Sakura) puts the most people-pleasing employees on the registers, hoping their charm will buoy the store’s score, and then she discovers a harsh truth: Jonah is not good with customers. Maybe he once was, but now there are complaints that he talks too much at checkout and makes the store’s guests uncomfortable.

Even the passage of the new stimulus package couldn’t keep Cloud 9 from going out of business. Attention, Cloud 9 shoppers: if you weren’t expecting Amy to return quite so soon, you weren’t the only one.

“Superstore” star and executive producer America Ferrera didn’t anticipate her character Amy would head back to St. Louis during the same season she left for a corporate gig at the big-box retailer’s headquarters in California, but news that Season 6 would be the NBC series’ last dramatically shifted the trajectory of her storyline.

“I expected and hoped that the show would go on after my departure for many, many years,“ she tells Variety. “So it was definitely coming back sooner than I think any of us imagined. But at the same time, we knew that in the setup of how Amy left, it really lent itself to how she could come back.”

In an unexpected twist, Jeff returns as Store 1217's district manager on Superstore Season 6 Episode 12.

Corporate reinstated Jeff as the district manager, prompting chaotic events on "Customer Satisfaction."

Among these events includes one last glimpse of Jeff and Mateo's former relationship, providing closure for them, as well as for us.

But first, Jeff's return prompts Cloud 9 employees to encourage customers to fill out their customer satisfaction surveys. At first, these surveys do not seem like a big deal. However, according to Jeff, Store 1217 is not doing so hot, which brings up the possibility of getting fired.
