I have actually watched the previous two movies in this franchise, however I must admit that I have entirely forgotten about the movie. And it was only when I looked up "Secret Society 3: 'Til Death" that I saw that I saw that I had rated the 2021 movie "Secret Society" a six out of ten stars and the 2022 movie "Secret Society 2: Never Enough" a four out of ten stars. But truth be told, I have entirely forgotten about the storylines in the movie.
Yet, I still opted to sit down and watch the 2023 movie "Secret Society 3: 'Til Death" on account of it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, much less actually heard about. So writer Miasha Coleman and director Jamal Hill had every opportunity to entertain me with this third movie in the franchise.
The storyline felt like writer Miasha Coleman had written a vast number of clues for storylines and put them into a bag, and then let director Jamal Hill randomly draw one paper prior to filming the scene. There was a disturbing lack of continuity to the narrative, and it felt like the movie was all over, and that made it somewhat difficult to sit down and get submerged into the storyline.
I was, for the vast majority of the actors and actresses on the cast list, not familiar with them. And that is usually something I enjoy when I sit down to watch a movie. However, the actors and actresses in "Secret Society 3: 'Til Death" didn't really have much of anything solid to work with. I was only familiar with Vivica A. Fox and Jeremy Meeks on the cast list.
There is a lot of stereotyped characters in the character gallery. But hey, can't say that I was overly surprised at that fact.
The music in the movie was insanely annoying. But then again, I've never been a fan of hip hop, rap, or whatever genre it was. All I know was that it was cringeworthy music, and I didn't enjoy that one bit.
There was a lot of fancy cars being showed off throughout the course of the movie, if you're interested in fast cars.
Some of the costumes and wardrobes in the movie was just flat down ridiculous during that Paris Fashion Week. But at least the provided a good laugh.
"Secret Society 3: 'Til Death" was a dull viewing experience, and it took quite an effort to sit through it. Needless to say that this is not a movie that I will be returning to watch a second time.
My rating of "Secret Society 3: 'Til Death" lands on a three out of ten stars.
