Exciting conclusion to the 1st Season. Like you hear so many times, in a war, there are casualties on all sides, collateral damage, and cruelty from all sides. It's hard to gather from the dry history of the Revolution (from whom nobody in Setauket wants to speak the word war, or rebellion), but there are real monsters here (Simcoe), indecisive ones (Major Hewlett) and some virtuous British mixing with the townspeople, Our heroes, Continental Major. Tallmadge, Caleb Brewster, and townsperson Anna Strong are now in the thick of it, the Culper ring, and none more reluctantly than Abraham Woodhull ((Jamie Bell). By some miracle, none of the ring is by the end of this episode up for "treason" to which the British are eager to punish in order to set an example, It's almost too tense.. but the storytellers in putting this together for AMC. Have done such a great job.
