Exclusive: Break, which is one of Rutger Hauer’s finals movies, will be getting a multiplatform release via Conduit Presents, the distribution division of Conduit Now.

Conduit Presents acquired the Michael Elkin-directed crime sports drama and has set a release for Jan. 5, 2021.

Break follows a young inner city kid who is wasting his talents on petty crime. He has the ability to become a world-champion snooker player, if only he can overcome his circumstances, his ties to the mob, and himself. Sam Gittins, and Jamie Foreman also star. Elkin also wrote. The pic is produced by Dean Fisher and Terri Dwyer. Break reps Elkin’s feature directorial debut following an acting resume which includes such credits as the UK TV series EastEnders, Undercover Hooligan, and Aux starring John Rhys-Davies.

Ethan Hawke stars as an ex-felon looking to right his wrongs in actor-turned-director Logan Marshall-Green’s behind-the-camera debut, “Adopt a Highway,” which hits theaters and VOD on November 1. Watch the first trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis from Rlje Films: “Russ Millings has just been released from prison after serving 21 years for a third strike conviction for possessing an ounce of marijuana. As he tries to adapt to a world he doesn’t recognize – including trying to learn how to use the internet – he finds an abandoned baby in a dumpster behind the fast food restaurant where he works as a dishwasher. Unsure of what to do, and caught between impulses of kindness and panic, Russ soon realizes this could be his chance at redemption.”

“Adopt a Highway” is a Blumhouse production, and director Marshall-Green (best known for starring in films such as “Upgrade” and “The Invitation”) also writes.

The inimitable Rutger Hauer has died at 75, leaving behind a prolific legacy in film and television.

“I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.”

Rutger Hauer passed away this past Friday, July 19, at the age of the age of 75, having succumbed to a short illness. The news was revealed today by the actor’s agent, Steve Kennis. However, unlike the unforgettable soliloquy – quoted above – that he delivered in 1982’s Blade Runner, his moments will not be lost in time.
