I first discovered Battle For Dream Island around 2014.i'd heard things here and there about it, and with it's lack of mention around threads, I was pretty skeptical to see it from myself.
I am proud to say that this webtoon did exceed some my expectations.
First off, let me just say that I'm not a huge fan of the first season. sure, the animation was "meh" at first, and the final two were both the somewhat bland characters of the cast, but nonetheless it's still enjoyable. Plus, the improvement is clearly noticeable as you go through each episode.
The characters in the first half were mostly enjoyable, and most of them had their own unique qualities (although some of them were somewhat stereotypical.) The plot is basically Survivor but with objects. For the most part, it worked out pretty well throughout both seasons of BFDI. My complaint however is that sometimes it came off as generic and predictable.
Now, let's talk about the second season, Battle For Dream Island Again.
Battle For Dream Island Again is a MAJOR step forward from what the first season was. Many of the problems I had were actually fixed in the second season, which I was pretty happy about. Th characters I'd originally disliked became some of my favorites in the series, and the generic vibe had disappeared without a trace.
The new cast members are AMAZING. Never have a loved a quirky bunch of characters like these guys. Actually, I found almost EVERY character in the second season likable and had distinct traits to them. The characters I didn't like this season ere Pencil, Match< and Ruby. Pencil and Match are just the typical valley girls in my opinion. I've found them annoying from the beginning of the series. Ruby however, isn't as bad as Pencil and Match? It's just that I found her a bit of a HUGE crybaby. But otherwise, her character is just a bit "meh" to me, and Ruby is the only new cast member on my dislikes list.
The animation is absolutely amazing. You can clearly tell that they've greatly improved from the first season of BFDI, and there are some sequences that are just beautiful to look at. Although I did have a slight problem with the CGI segments, there weren't much of a bother.
Unfortunately, BFDIA was cancelled in 2013.
However, it was rebooted as IFDB, it's first episode released in September 2016.
I'm not going to go into much detail of IFDB so far. But from what I've seen, it definitely looks promising. The creators at the moment are on an intentional hiatus as of the day this review was published, and the creators are at the moment finding a way to bring us an IFDB episode every week in the future. Which in my opinion, is pretty exciting.
I hope you enjoyed my review of Battle For Dream Island. If you found my review useful to you, or if you didn't really find it all that informative, just press the yes or no buttons atop! Thanks for taking time out of your day to read this, and I'll see you next time!

Wow, dispute the lack of blood and gore, this show can be a little extreme with the violence at times. Nothing that a 7 year old can't handle, especially with almost all characters being able to be revived, but still. Overall an extremely fun show, one of the best web shows ever. The first season might turn some people off with the first few episodes, but other than that (and a few eh episodes), this show is amazing and deserves the hugw fanbase. And it deserves more than a 7.5/10 on imdb.

Created a genre ( object shows ), is intesting, AND to top it all off, a good cast.
Very Good.

What seemed to be a simple object show towards pacing the way to what we have now we also should have a bfdi movie

I love this show! All the characters are funny and most are unique ( I say most because of bland characters. I'm looking at you Teardrop. ) BFDIA was a bit random, but IDFB is out. IDFB is much more polished, and it's only on it's first episode! Would highly recommend to anyone! The thing with this show though is the animations is pretty simple, there are mistakes, and Ice Cubes lines are all re used. Any new lines are usually reversed re used lines.

I love this series and it inspired me to make my own Object Show: "BFA". I'm gonna be so sad when the series ends, but we have to enjoy it while it lasts.
In a show where the whole point is that the audience gets to decide which characters are eliminated and which prevail it is super easy to end up invested in its community.
Besides being jam-packed with fun, funnies and simple dramas, the show by itself its only half the fun without getting involved in the community, which is why this review is an 8 instead of a 10.
Go get emotionally invested with the characters, root for your favorites, cope with the results, go make fan content to fill the holes in your heart this show will most likely leave on you. Although there's a considerable drop in quality on the second half of Season 4, this show was still worth all of those years I dedicated to it.
The characters are fun albeit somewhat one-dimensional, the conflicts are simple but thrilling, it's probably going to be one of the silliest shows you'll watch... but it's everything your childhood has ever dreamed of.

I am into shows like Survivor or Total Drama Island. So obviously, I decided to give this one a shot. And overall, I enjoyed it.
In my opinion, I think the series' peak was at it's first season. The characters were good, the challenges the contestants did were creative, and the animation, despite looking very weird for today's standards, is fairly impressive for two 12 year olds.
I'm not going to act like the series was perfect. Like for example, I think the second half of the forth season is very disappointing. Especially since the first half was nearly was good as the first season.
Overall, the series isn't fantastic. But if you have a couple hours to yourself, I recommend you check at least the first season out.

I have no words like literally it makes me feel so much like a kid it makes me feel so happy and warm and comforted i just love it so so so much. 10/10 DEFINITELY would recommend.
Without this show the object show community would not exist,And im happy it does exist.
This is enjoyable to watch! This show is funny. The only thing I don't like about battle for dream island is the fact some characters are so useless like spongy! He doesn't do anything! Overall go watch BFDI
This show is actually pretty good. It might seem a bit weird at first, but if you watch more episodes, or heck, binge the entire series you'll actually find that it's a pretty good web series. I do think that Season 4: "Battle for BFDI" isn't as good as season 1, almost the entire series is good. Except season 2. Don't watch season 2.

Object shows would not have existed if it wasn't for BFDI, while sometimes the pacing can be slow or too fast, and maybe feel dull and boring at times, it's mostly a fun experience watching! I recommend you watch this, the humor is mostly funny (especially the derpy faces and things that come out of nowhere), this is a must watch for anybody and I really do like how you can see through every episode the quality and animation getting improvements! This show has come along way from being a small little animation series, it's now being worked on by a massive team and fans showing their dedication! 8/10.

Good humor, good animation, decent voice acting, good show in general.
First off, when this series started back in 2010 it was made by two thirteen-year olds on a budget that was presumably equivalent to the character nonexisty. It can be viewed on YouTube free of charge. Grading on a curve, I'd give the series 26.5 stars out of 10. Maybe 27.
But that wouldn't make for a very useful review, now would it?
The series is about a collection of anthropomorphized common objects like a flower, a rock and a sponge. They are competing to win "Dream Island" in what is essentially a parody of various game shows. The contestants have to compete in various challenges like tug-of-war, races and making pies. Back when the episodes were released, YouTube commenters were allowed to vote on the contestant that should be eliminated.
Animation/visuals: surprisingly well done. Despite having many characters, they are all highly recognizable and easy on the eye. And everything you'd expect is there. For example, mouths move when characters talk. Despite being objects, the characters very much feel alive. There's nothing to complain about. The environment is another story. Many scenes happen in an open field or some relatively simplistic representation of a mountain, ocean, bridge. Etc. It's understandable given the nonexisty budget, but hey, not grading on a curve here.
Voice acting and sound: absolutely great. I don't know if the Huang brothers also work as professional voice actors, but I feel they should easily be able to. Despite being voiced by just two people, most if not all characters have a distinguishable voice. Even high-budget professional productions don't consistently achieve that. Microphone noise or background noise is a common issue on low-budget productions, but I noticed very little of that on BfDI. The sound Rocky makes when barfing cracks me up every time. Sound effects are used where appropriate and never feel out of place. Music is okay. The only somewhat negative point: there's no highly recognizable theme song or jingle. A few attempts are made with the "cake at stake" segments, but it feels like those fall a bit flat.
Humor: BfDI isn't here to make you ponder about the consequences of the grandfather paradox. It's not here to make you question your role in the universe. It's not trying to teach you right from wrong. Nor will it define the meaning of love. BfDI is here to goof around. And goof around it does. It's mostly slapstick (with a considerable amount of literal slapping), some word jokes, meta humor and largely absurdist. Much of the series is based on running gags. It's like a marathon, almost every gag is running. In the original release this probably wasn't an issue as episodes only came out roughly every month. But if you binge-watch the series, you start noticing it more and more. That being said, most jokes are well timed and delivered, again something that plenty of high-budget professional productions don't quite manage.
Consistency: For me, BfDI was mostly consistent in quality from the first episode until the contestants went to long-lost Yoyle City. This surprised me as I had expected that with experience and perhaps additional budget as the series got more popular it would become more polished. Once in Yoyle City the environment was given much more attention which was nice to see as it felt more unique. Starting with season 4 (BFB 1), something seemed to have changed. Before, whenever a character got hurt it was usually because another character threw them under the bus to get ahead, because another character wanted revenge, because another character thought it would be funny or by accident. But starting with BFB 1, characters started getting hurt for no obvious reason. This could be merely my perception, but slapstick without motive just doesn't land as well for me. For comparison: Spongebob Squarepants does this constantly and that show is extremely popular and well-loved. But I'd rate Spongebob maybe a 4 out of 10 - the humor is extremely predictable for me and just not funny. But if you love Spongebob, odds are you'll love season 4 of BfDI as well.
Conclusion: it's relatively well made, and it's ridiculously well made when you consider there wasn't a team of weathered professionals with a big budget behind it. If you're looking for some absurdist slapstick that doesn't go too deep, isn't trying to impart some life lesson upon its viewers and with a varied set of characters, this may be the series for you.
Fun fact: in the time you wasted reading this review, you could have just watched two episodes to make up your own mind!

I have watched BFDI since the beginning, and it was always amazing to watch. Although it appeals to specific types of people, it still is a great experience.

This show is so captivating, if you are planning on watching this, just a warning: The first season is meh, the second season is meh until bfdia 5, after that is gets good, I would rate this 10/10 but I feel some episodes don't exceed expectations that well, very wholesome show, inspiring, so inspiring it started an entire community of people which has grown by millions, also a little trick, posting an object show will get you ALOT of views, more views than some gaming video, some characters lack development (Price Tag, TV, Foldy) but every character gets their moment to shine, and would definitely recommend.
