This is the third movie which is produced by also known Filipino actor Piolo Pascual after his first dibs in movie-producing for Eugene Domingo's hit movie series "Kimi Dora". This is his second movie however, that is shot outside the Philippines - the first one was Kimi Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme which was shot in South Korea. Kita-kita (I See You) was entirely shot in Japan.
With just a P10 million budget, the films goes on to gross more than P320 million and becoming the highest grossing "indie" film of the Philippines pushing Heneral Luna out of the top spot.
