Van Damme actually worked as a bouncer in a restaurant called Woody's Wharf that was owned by Chuck Norris.

The cyst on the head of Van Damme, which often distracts the spectators, is intelligently enhanced together with a wound that the character suffers at the beginning.

The film is a radical and artistic change in JCVD's filmography, a dark, gloomy, violent film.

It was announced in January that filming would take place in Dinant. The production announces however that the places did not correspond to the expectations of the production. The shots finally take place in Namur, another city in the Walloon Region.
