Murder by the Lake (2014) is a German-Austrian crime TV-show, shot mainly on locations in the city of Bregenz and the surrounding area at Lake Constance. In German, the lake is called Bodensee, which explains the original title 'Die Toten vom Bodensee' literally translated as 'The Dead of Lake Constance'.

After the 15th episode, Nora Waldstätten left the series and was replaced by Alina Fritsch. According to a statement by Waldstätten on the social network Instagram, her departure was at her own request: "After nine exciting and successful years of 'Die Toten vom Bodensee', I have decided to leave the crime series because it was just time for a change. This also creates space for new projects, which I'm really looking forward to."
