Joker: Folie à Deux (2024)
Waste of time
Wow. I never write reviews. But I have to. Guys. This was bad. Pointless. Totally pointless and utterly boring. I still think Joaquin was so good but at the same time I didn't care. At a certain point I didn't want to be in the theater anymore. I wanted to go home and be doing literally anything else. Cooking toast? Watching paint dry? Even staring at my rug? I just wanted to be out of the theater.
Turning this into a musical could have maybe been cool? But certainly not In the way they did this one. I've never been more bummed about a sequel in my entire life and that's a fact.
Did they spend 200 million dollars and waste it on this crap? Yes. That kind of makes me nauseous.
Terrible movie. Terrible idea. And really a waste of time. I'm sorry.
Dave Chappelle: The Dreamer (2023)
I know comedy is subjective
I know it's subjective, but I've never watched a Netflix special (I don't watch too many of them) where I was fighting to turn off for 30 minutes straight. I eventually turned it off. This special just felt immature and hateful for no reason. It did not feel like comedy. Felt like a bully going on stage. I love humor that makes fun of people, like Jeff Ross is one of my favorites. Even Robin Williams did it a lot. Loved it. But there was a certain energy behind it. There is a sense of joy and love. Dave Chappell felt angry, ignorant and egotistical. Now obviously some people liked it. And that's great! But I'm giving my opinion and many people I know who watched feel the same way.
It's sad to see such a great comedian go off the rails into bully/ego land. Making fun of people with disabilities like he did in the first 20 minutes reminded me of how bully kids would make fun of them in the 5th grade. Such a low moment for him.
Anyways. Not a fan. Terrible special. And I probably will not be watching any more of his work.
Hack My Home (2023)
The hosts have forced chemistry but cool house transformations
I really love the hacks - like at the end of the episode and stuff. Always cool to see what they come up with and how they transform the spaces... but man is it hard to sit through when they are at "the headquarters" and how they communicate with eachother. It has this forced excitement and almost feels like they are being fed dialogue off screen to say. It doesn't feel authentic.
I wish they had a better cast of people that vibe better. The guy with the curly big hair is a little much. I really get turned off by people trying to force comedy. And this show has a lot of that...
Other than that though - the creative of these people is pretty impressive.
Seinfeld (1989)
Best show
Just watched the entire show in 5 days my head is spinning still. But wow. This is legendary. I can't believe I waited this long to see this. I tend to avoid things that are so mainstream. But my gosh. I feel like I've been missing something in my life and this was it. Greatest sitcom ever made.
The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun (2021)
The 1st bit was great but then it lost me.
The 1st story I found to be great. It was wonderfully done. This is the only reason I'm giving it a 5. If it wasn't for the 1st story... oh boy.... I'd rate it half a star if I could.
For me the last 2 stories felt like a complete waste of time. I didn't understand what any of it had to say. It felt like a mess and I couldn't follow a word of it. It almost felt like it was in another language.
Anyways - not much else to say. Of course it was beautiful on the eyes. But when you don't understand what the heck is going on - then The beauty of how a shot looks disappears pretty quick.
I was massively let down.
The New Romantic (2018)
Brett Dier was the best part
The movie was generally just ok. Nice sound track decent acting by the leads. Brett Dier stole the film in my opinion and wish he had a bigger part. I found myself only really paying attention when he was around. But I'd still recommend it as a late night little rom com. Not bad.
Breaking Bad (2008)
Cranston
Best actor on tv. Hands down. We witnessed a legendary legend at work ladies and gentleman.
