Time Will Tell (1992)
Bob Marley: "This is my story"
Like in many documentaries about Bob you hear and see people talking about Bob. But this one is different. No other person then Bob himself is leading this wonderful documentary. There are enough interviews of the great Bob Marley to full many Tapes, so it was great that the makers of Time Will Tell did this in this documentary. But there is more then only Bob speaking. Like many artist people wonder what is left behind on videos and tapes. There is a big collection of unseen videos and tapes if it goes about Bob. I must say that Time Will Tell has many unseen videos and performance. From the Capitol Rehearsals in 1973 to a Jamaican TV performance in 1980 where Bob played Redemption Song. Between this you can also watch some very nice interviews, football footage of Bob in Jamaica and of course live performance. Some performance are really rare like the Get Up Stand Up version played in Germany 1980 or the rare footage of Bob in New York somewhere around his last concert.
If you saw some other documentaries and you want something new then I can recommend you to watch this one. You won't hear unknown people who are telling their story about Bob but only Bob himself talking and performing.
American Masters: Bob Marley: Rebel Music (2000)
I don't care who the man is, my right is my right, like my life...All I have is my life
It's been more then 20 years now that the great Bob Marley died in Miami 1981. Since then he became even famous and bigger in the whole world then he was when he was alive. Several documentaries appeared since then. Documentaries like: Time Will Tell and Carribean Nights. They where all great. Rebel Music is not better then those one but also not weaker. Although this documentary has more unseen clips and unheard songs. Acoustic songs like Soul Rebel and Heat Of The Day comes by which is in my opinion the best thing this documentary has. The 30 seconds from Soul Rebel is amazing, and it is a big shame that Island isn't bringing all those great versions out that they have in their faults. But there are more things that are brought in this documentary. Bob was a person who had a lot of women in his lifetime. Not in any documentary they paid attention to this. girlfriends like the Miss World of 1976 Cindy Breakspeare is talking about Bob. His wife Rita is also talking about this subject, and the role she had in this marriage. There are also some unseen clips that are coming by. Some of them are from Jamaica 1973, but also from some concerts like The Amandla concert played in Boston (No Woman No Cry) and also a sound check. And this too reveals that Island has many, many unseen videos in their faults. They are also showing some new footages of the One Love Peace Concert and a short part that was cut from the Live! At Rainbow video.
So if you didn't see it yet, get it as fast as you can! You won't be disappointing!
Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo (1966)
How much are you worth now? 2000 Dollars!
The best western film that I have ever seen. Only 1 film comes very close and that is Once Upon A Time In The West. Sergio Leone is showing everyone that he made the best western films ever. His way of making it is unforgettable, a simple plot, low ranking actors, a slow-motion film and the best soundtrack ever. That is his thing in this film. Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef never got the same high status as Clint Eastwood did, and that is a big shame because they are both fantastic, especially Eli Wallach. He got the main role in this film and he is doing it so great, that your starting to like him a lot, although he is a villain, but in the end all the three man are villains. Everyone knows the soundtrack of this movie, some people never saw the movie but they know the music. And it fits perfectly in every scene. The shootout in the end of the movie is a classic scene, and the music makes it even higher then that.
I will not say that you must look this movie and all that kind of things. But let me warn you for one thing: "Once you have seen this movie, it will never leave you alone" A masterpiece made by a master: Sergio Leone.
