King Arthur (2004)
Highly underrated
I was hesitant to watch this movie after I heard so many complaining about it, but after finally breaking down and watching it, I realized it was a terrific film. The only reason I can see that I enjoyed it so much when others loathed it is that I am not too familiar with the story of Arthur, Lancelot and all of them. I think the fact that it gave a different view on the characters from what people may be used to gave them a bitter taste in their mouth, clouding their judgement. I had to watch this film two more times after the initial viewing because it was so entertaining. The fight scenes (of which there are many) are phenomenal, it has very good character development, and the cinematography is amazing. If you take offense to any slight alteration to the legend of Arthur and his Knights, this may not be the film for you, but for your average joe this movie rocks just as hard as Gladiator, Braveheart and the 13th Warrior, a definite must-see.
Mutant X (2001)
Takes some getting used to
I just bought the complete first season on DVD because it's Marvel, so I figured it couldn't be that bad. My initial reaction after watching the first episode was severe disappointment, as the acting, dialogue and realism are all just so terrible. I gave the show a second chance, though, and watched the second episode. Although it was probably just as flawed as the first, it actually became enjoyable to watch. I think it just takes a bit of getting used to to be able to appreciate the show. It's an entertaining show, albeit heavily flawed. If you're a fan of the Marvel universe and can deal with a show with a thousand plot holes, then this just may be the show for you.
