This movie is just a reason to celebrate the phenomenon called Vijay. If you look for flaws ,there may be many. End of the day I had the most fun watching a Tamil movie to such an extent I need to watch it multiple times. VP has utilised his opportunity to milk an iconic crowd puller to the max, VJ has given his blood and sweat to the characters he played and the result is just grand. The moment Jeevan arrives on screen the movie hits turbo mode, it's adrenaline rush in wholesale from there on, you need some patience to endure the first 30-40 minutes.
If you count the number of artists you can fill a convention centre easily. Somehow VP has managed to give ample space to everyone of them. Prasanth has a meaty role, so does PD and Jayaram. Because of this mayhem, the barrage of events coming one after another you forget this is a three hour long blast.
Yuvan...what can I say...just blew the haters to bits. The unnecessary trolling and degrading of pretty good commercial songs didn't deter him in giving a banger of a BGM, many pieces are continuously running in the head. The sounds he has come up for the floating market scenes, the metro fight scenes, the climax moments...what a legend, son of a gun...
I have never seen such a climax in my entire life. For a moment when I saw the bike riding CGI and the works ,I thought there we go...and then holy heavens, how did VP conjure such a scintillating 20 minutes, blending cricket and that surreal commentary. This scene will be a standalone work of art for the rest of years to come. The way MSDs & VJs legends come together with the words The Greatest Of All Time in the background is something VP can feel proud of even after he retires.
