Velle (2021)

Fun movie

I had low expectations from this one.. specially when I saw Karan Deol's average acting.

The story and screenplay made up for that. The characters were fun and there are no slow/boring parts. Worth a watch.

Shikara (2020)

Worst movie ever

Rating it 1/10 as 0 is not permitted. The premise of the movie is disgusting, it's a betrayal. Vidhu Vinod Chopra deserves to be slapped with shoes for this one.

Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota (2018)

Brilliant movie, not to be missed

This movie excels at a number of things

• Two (sorta) debut actors who can actually act. Remember Hritik's acting in his debut movie?
• Gulshan D is brilliant as always
• Radhika Madan is a Bollywood actress who does her own stunts, that's unparalleled probably
• Abhimanya can act & fight which he learned for this movie. Most action heroes can dance but not act. Tiger Shroff is a good example.
• Somewhat witty sense of humor, not for everyone

This movie was meant to not make money and it didn't. It was meant to be a cult movie and it will be eventually.

Tumbbad (2018)

Best ever Hindi horror movie

Horror is a genre that has never worked well in Bollywood. Thumbnail nixes this trend with a combination of great mythology based plot, screenplay backed with some great performances. The movie is not flawless by any means and I did not understand parts of the storyline and also the climax, but the movie succeeds in capturing your attention for entire duration. Worth a watch ideally in the theatre.

A Perfect Day (2015)

Stupid Movie

Plot makes very little sense. They keep looking for a rope in a war torn Serbia, one could simply fashion one out of trees or electrical wires. Benicio & Tim Robbins are good actors and have a presence but movie leverages too much on that, very little on screenplay.

Ghoul (2018)

Garbage + Religious Propoganda + Fear Mongering + Radhika Apte (bonus)

Putting up Radhika Apte on the poster cannot save this series. The entire series is focused on fear mongering & pushing religious propoganda. Seems to be funded by a political party.

Lemon (2017)

Garbage

I saw it for the actors in the movie but that was a horrible decision. Calling this movie garbage would be a kind review. Makes absolutely no sense at all and feel like its being made boring by choice. Wannabe art cinema. I don't see what was the point of ever making this movie. Definitely not worth a watch.

Gong fu yu jia (2017)

Worst of the lot

While Jackie Chan is famous, he is not known for quality cinema. That said, this is by far the worst of his movies that I have had the bad luck of watching. The production value, acting, dialogues, narrative are all so poor that you cannot imagine that people paid to watch this.

Disha Patani, who has pretty much no experience is mostly used as a prop, the insertion of Chinese government propaganda just makes all this in very poor taste.

Tere Mere Sapne (1996)

Really hilarious movie with a bunch of talented newcomers

This is the first film from the ABCL stable and has a completely newcomer's star cast.Most of the actors have gone on to succeed in after this film. the story is of 2 boys who desire each other's lives. The rich boy from London and the taxi diver of a 'chaal' in Bombay. They meet by coincidence and decide to swap their lifestyles for sometime. Arshad Warsi specially shines in the film with his unique sense of humor.He is to be seen in notable comic roles in film like MunnaBhaiMBBS,Hero Hinustani,Salaam Namaste,Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part 2 etc. Music is worth listening and is not the fitted in improperly. Also the script is neatly written. Definitely worth a watch.
