Hardware (1990)
1990's well made Sfi-ci thriller
The first 15 minutes, you have to get into the movie. But when you do, you're sucked in.
It feels a bit like Mad Max combined with the Terminator, but in a very good way. The acting is very good, and I like the sexual voilence in this movie. It's there, right in your face.
The android is very well made. Just don't overthink it when he's rebuilding himself.
I had fun watching this movie, leaving me with a crush for Stacey Travis. She's gorgeous to watch.
Nachtwacht (2015)
Folklore and horror for children, but in a good way
This is a very good series, with 2 movies for so far, from the Belgian studio 100. The series and movies take place in a town in the woods, called Schemermeer. Shadowlake in English. It's a place with a thin line between Earth and Hell, and sometimes a creature crosses this line to do harm on Earth.
An Elf, a Vampire and a Werewolf work together as a team, called 'De Nachtwacht' (Night's Watch) to prevent the harm from being done, and to send the creature back to Hell.
They also get help from a man in a book, called Vega. He's the one who knows every creature by heart and how to defeat them.
The series and movies are very well brought and made, as a non-American studio without all those big budgets. The acting is solid and good. The stories are very well brought as well.
It can be scary and creepy for younger children, but mine are 9 and 6 years old, and they handle the tension and monsters (creatures) very well.
Have fun watching this show.
Thanks!
Bumperkleef (2019)
From thriller to much worse
Lots of cliches in this movie. Lots of unrealistic panic. Bad driving, the making of no logic decisions, ... And I just want to shoot the wife in this movie. Man, can she nag and whine...
Midsommar (2019)
Ari Aster is not my cup of thee
I give this film 5 stars, but having such a good camera work and very wide and open environments.
I don't get it how this film gets a horror rating. Nothing you see or experience is true horror. It's just cruel, plain simple. But never in a horror way.
Hereditary is the same. Never horror, just cruel, plain and simple.
Horror is the first Saw movie, The Haunting (1963), The Shining, ...
That's horror. That's a movie that gets in your head and under your skin.
This is just a walk in the park for the real horror lover.
Nice try, but stop making Hollywood horror. They just don't got the stomach for it.
Hereditary (2018)
Boring and overhyped
I'm a lifetime fan of cult movies and horror, but this movie is just awfull. I got the direction of where this movie is going right from the start, and was hoping for some gruelsome plot twists. What a disappointment... A girls head gets ripped off, so what? Never seen The Walking Dead or A Serbian Film? If this is horror according to small minded Hollywood, then they need to rate their Disney films as 18+ horror as well.
