DCI Banks: Aftermath: Part 2 (2010)
Often out of control and inappropriate
DCI Banks an earnest emotional stereotypically divorced middle aged Cop is adequately directed, written and acted. But only a few flaws spoil the pot. Is it OK the way Banks treats those he interrogate? Why have a lawyer (solicitor) present if they allow everything and say nothing? Lucy was severely damaged, extensively psychoanalyzed and deemed unfit for trial. Banks rushes out after the team confronts her at the burial site and Lucy confesses. Maybe that's happened somewhere sometime, but last night at the conclusion of part 2, it was unbelievable. Banks' rushing in grabbing Lucy, while everyone else watched, and playing Dr Jung or Freud or whomever was not believable.
Stenhuggaren (2009)
Not easy to follow
Good acting , filming and storytelling but not easy to follow. Or was that just me. The story jumps from era to era and the queues are not easy to pick up. They are there but...I won't discuss a major clue as it may spoil it for some. The novel is very long and no doubt had opportunity to fill in where the film did not. Nevertheless, apart from two glaring flaws I'll stick with Camilla, for now.
Varg Veum - Bitre blomster (2007)
enough to commend it, but
We have watched many different mysteries over the year but this is the first review and I'll make it short. The conclusion resolves the story in a preposterous fashion. Veum has no backup and it's a very long shot successful ending.
