API’s President & CEO Mike Sommers responds to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s new study on the impact of U.S. LNG exports: “After nearly a year of a politically motivated pause that has only weakened global energy security, it’s never been clearer that U.S. LNG is critical for meeting growing demand for affordable, reliable energy while supporting our allies overseas.” Meanwhile, a new study from S&P Global lays out the clear benefits of continued LNG exports: Domestic economic growth while reducing the U.S. trade deficit. Increased global energy security amid a period of geopolitical turmoil. Global reductions in CO2 emissions by switching to U.S. natural gas. It’s time to restore LNG export permits to power our economy and support our allies overseas. More here: https://lnkd.in/eQKgGUdP

NEW: API Senior Vice President of Policy, Economics, and Regulatory Affairs Dustin Meyer addresses the potential disconnect between the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s upcoming study on liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports and real-world data. As the DOE looks to justify its year-long LNG export permit pause, Dustin highlights key findings that contradict the current administration’s concerns about LNG’s impact on U.S. energy prices and more. Time to move past political roadblocks and embrace #LNG exports to support U.S. jobs, energy leadership and global allies. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eEfZDx4e

API and Blue Wave partnered recently with the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry and the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association to host an Energy Workshop for a diverse network of small- and medium-sized businesses in the oil and natural gas supply chain. Held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, participants met with industry experts, toured the ExxonMobil Baton Rouge refinery and learned international standards to transform their capabilities. Now, they are ready to pursue important supporting roles in the oil and natural gas industry, which itself is a key driver of America’s economy. As energy demand is projected to increase for years to come, America’s oil and natural gas companies need a robust supply chain backing them up, and businesses in this network are essential to ensuring the industry can keep providing affordable, reliable energy to U.S. consumers. Demand for U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) is strong around the world – undercutting one of the Biden administration’s main reasons for pausing permitting for new and pending LNG export projects. Bottom line: American natural gas helps allies, benefits U.S. trade and has helped grow our economy – even as American families enjoyed some of the lowest natural gas prices in the world. Additionally, it can help other nations lower their emissions and advance climate goals. We can look forward to the incoming administration lifting the pause when they take over in January, a critical step in supporting our nation’s energy advantage. More here: https://lnkd.in/etXjBV8f
