#PolicyBasics tip of the day! In many cases, when your clients know #flooding is likely and they have precious time to prepare. They can minimize damage to their home by doing the following: 1. Turning off electricity at their electrical panel and turning off the main water and gas lines. 2. Anchoring fuel tanks or other utilities to ensure they're not damaged. 3. Purchasing sandbags or tarps to help secure the home against floodwaters. This may seem elementary to a seasoned insurance agent, but your clients likely don't see the world through your eyes.
