Antioch, Museum
Q636888A very large museum with many mosaics and some sculpture, including a splendid sarcophagus. When I visited the place for the last time, parts of the museum were closed because it was moving to another location in a different part of the city. There's a room with Assyrian objects and there are medieval finds, but most of it is Hellenistic and especially Roman.
It may be noted that the museum was built on the place where the Crusaders made their famous sortie from besieged Antioch.
This museum was visited in 2004, 2007, 2011.
