K. Renae Pullen

K. Renae Pullen has been an accomplished educator for more than 25 years. Currently, she serves as the Elementary Science Teaching and Learning Specialist for Caddo Parish Public Schools in Shreveport, Louisiana, and she is a member of the Caddo Teaching Academy (CTA) faculty. Pullen is a passionate advocate for providing all young learners with the opportunity to engage in the wonders of science and to have access to meaningful science and STEM learning experiences. She is committed to supporting teachers and leaders in creating a classroom environment that ignites curiosity, empowers exploration, advances justice, and equips our youngest learners to become lifelong wonderers.

Pullen has served on various local, state, and national committees and delivered presentations at numerous workshops, webinars, and conferences. She was appointed to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education Advisory Panel for the National Science Foundation and is currently serving as a member of the Board for Science Education for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Her achievements include receiving the Caddo Parish Teacher of the Year award, a Fund for Teachers fellowship to study creativity and STEM in Spain, a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities to study the American Skyscraper in Chicago, being honored as one of the Greater Shreveport and Bossier Chamber of Commerce’s 40 Under 40 and receiving the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching.
