Barrow, Hepburn & Gales - Barrow Hepburn & Gale British Military Universal Pattern Horse Saddle English Art Deco Brass, Leather

Made for the British military in 1926 by the highly renowned English leather goods maker, Barrow, Hepburn & Gale, this leather horse saddle is done in the Universal Pattern or U.P. style. The saddle has a wooden tree with steel supports, and the tree is covered with leather and strapped with canvas with brass clips. All the buckles on both the front and rear are also brass, as are many of the rivets, fasteners and hardware. The panels are done in a heavy felt and the saddle is clearly marked
