Resh Gala | Organic Gardener on Instagram: "Planting $20 worth of herbs in a $25 galvanized steel tub and not buying herbs from the grocery store for an entire year! 🙌 You can do the same too! I planted 5 herbs: rosemary, sage, thyme, bay laurel and za’atar, but you can plant basil, chives, mint, oregano or anything that you like! My steel tub is 5 years old and still available(I bought it during the pandemic from Home Depot). I’ve been reusing old soil year after year (see yesterday’s video of how I do it). Herbs are very low maintenance and extremely easy to grow. If you’re a beginner gardener, or simply want to grow your own pot of herbs, this is a great way to start! Happy gardening! 💚 #containergarden #herbgarden #herbs #growyourfood #reshgala #homegrown #harvest"

Tips for Harvesting Basil | Farmer Nick
These Fiskars herb snips are perfect for harvesting basil off of my farm stand, but there are two strategies you should employ if you want to increase your harvests:⁣ ⁣ Always cut at the internode ✂️⁣ Rather than pick off the leaves one by one, make sure to make your cut at the internode (the stem area between the leaf growth). This will encourage more growth from the two dormant nodes below and create an entire bush of basil 🌿⁣ ⁣ Always be propagating 💧⁣ To extend your basil harvest and create more plants, take a few of those internode cuttings and pop them in a propagation vessel. Once they start rooting, throw them back into the soil and let them get growing 😋⁣ ⁣ I see a lot of pesto in my future 🤤 Have you ever grown your own herbs? Let me know below! Follow me here for
