"Burning House, Yellow Smoke" (2007). by Lois Dodd. Oil on panel. This painting stood out to me because of how the organic shape of the flames contrast the geometric lines of the homes. Likewise, Dodd's use of lights versus darks creates another form of contrast. Overall, it was interesting to learn about the story behind Dodd's well known paintings of burning homes.
