We have built these Tree Decks around trees on several playgrounds. This main photo shows one around a new tree (the dark green canopy) that will grow out to make a large shade leafy “roof” over the deck. The neat thing about them, is that they put children essentially "in the tree” so they get to see the tree canopy up close, and to see the different insects that live in the bark above the ground, and the birds that fly into and nest in the canopy. Japanese studio Kengo Kuma and Associates has teamed up with Canadian playground design company Earthscape to create a playground structure.

The play possibilities of the Small Building Site contain operations similar to the working world of adults which can be copied. The technical design is attracting and motivating, the work processes encourage communication and cooperation.

The largest Log Tangle wood playground takes inspiration from cattails in a marsh, a grove of trees or twigs on a forest floor. The randomness of the upright posts evokes curiosity toward this playground equipment. Up close this playground product offers a myriad of play opportunities. Climbing, sliding, traversing, balancing, and crawling are all possibilities on this large log climber play structure.
