Heartbreaker Bar
The patterned fabrics used in the scheme on banquettes, sofas and stools are largely designed by Run For The Hills. Patterns key into the brand’s visual identity, some featuring Bad Cupid’s arrow, and others, subtle elements of the logo. The colour palette for the fabrics went through several iterations in order to marry the interior's deep red palette with vibrant clashes of pinks. The team also designed a bespoke rough textured wallpaper that has an ombre gradient from dusty pink to deep red.

Cocktails will be served on reflective mirror tops. The studio’s graphics team designed a series of neon “Love Will Tear Us Apart” light pieces, featuring song lyrics, channelling the spirit of heartbreak. The hero neon is hand drawn in a messy Tracey Emin inspired scrawl, and sits in a cage on top of a bespoke rough textured wallpaper, also designed by the graphic's team, giving it a grungy and dramatic aesthetic.

Glamorous pink pendants and table lamps include gorgeous pieces from Felix Lighting and vintage style Murano glass fittings from Pure White Lines. Thick velvet curtains shroud the bar and its guests from the outside world, creating a moody atmosphere in the speakeasy inspired bar. Banquettes curve seemlessly around the room, and feature discreet lighting both behind and below the banquette. The bespoke wallpaper is rough and textured with an ombre gradient from dusty pink to deep red.

Symmetrical Wes Anderson inspired speakeasy lounge with thick velvet curtains concealing guests from passersby, twin pink Murano glass chandeliers, and cosy banquette seating lit by an atmospheric glow underneath and behind the perimeter of the bar. The bar is a sea of bold clash of deep reds, clarets and dusky pinks.

The bar below is dressed in reflective materials and wrapped in layers of light; from soft washes across metallic tiles within the front bar arches to the glitter-fleck counter top and rear illumination of colourful apothecary glassware to the back bar. Light-sheet underlighting and soft glow projections on shelving makes the bottles and liquids glow beautifully.

We collaborated closely with Lighting Designers Nulty on the project, handing over the original interiors lighting mood concept for Nulty’s design team to take it to developed design stage and beyond, setting lux levels and directing mood control systems. The final design is full of amazing light effects, allowing the display of bottles to magically illuminate.

Cocktails will be served on antique brass table tops. The cocktail menu is leather bound for a luxurios finish, and the menu design features lots of quirky nods to the brand language, such as Bad cupid's arrow being used for section dividers and the page numbering system.

The specialist hero-bar joinery was fabricated by long-time RFTH collaborators Rough Living, who took Run For The Hills bar detailed bar design CAD drawings and added construction details, also co-ordinating with Nulty to integrate the light effects.
