The RCH encourages interdisciplinary collaborative research employing digital research methods and paradigms in the humanities, arts, and social sciences.
The RCH provides guidance and support in multiple ways to faculty in the development of digital research projects:
- Knowledge and experience with current national and international standards and practices for digital scholarship in the humanities, arts, and social sciences.
- Familiarity with recent initiatives encouraging Open Access and the use of digital technology from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), and the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS).
- Experience with grant proposal writing and knowledge of University requirements regarding indirect costs, allowable cost sharing, required paperwork, etc.
- Information regarding recognition of digital scholarship in professional evaluation and review (tenure, promotion, etc.) in the humanities, arts, and social sciences.
- Computing support for the development and hosting of online projects.
- RCH is recognized in the national and international Digital Humanities communities through collaboration with partners throughout North America and around the world.
