Welcome!

About Me:

I am a Senior Economist at the Macroeconomics and Monetary Policy Division of the SEACEN Centre (South East Asia Central Banks Research and Training Centre). My work involves designing and delivering training courses for SEACEN member central banks and monetary authorities on various macroeconomics and monetary policy courses; conducting research works; and contributing to SEACEN's work on capital flows. I am also a Research Associate at the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA) of the Crawford School of Public Policy of the Australia National University and a member of the Philippine Economic Society.

My areas of research specialisation are international macroeconomics, international financial economics, and development economics. I have published several journal articles, book chapters, working papers, report chapters, and blog articles on various topics including capital flows, financial inclusion, financial stress, bond price discovery, economic convergence, and international patterns of cross-border investments.

Prior to rejoining the SEACEN Centre in June 2022, I previously worked at the Centre from 2017 to 2020; and then as an Economist (International Staff) at the Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department of the Asian Development Bank from 2020 to 2022. I also worked at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and National Economic and Development Authority in Manila, Philippines; and held various academic teaching positions at De La Salle University, Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), and Newcastle Business School (England).

I earned by doctorate degree in Economics at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland; and my master's and bachelor's degrees in Economics at the Ateneo de Manila University and University of the Philippines, School of Economics, respectively. I also finished the advanced studies program at the Kiel Institute for World Economy in Germany.
