    Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease where organs and cells are damaged by autoantibodies and immune complexes, affecting mostly women of childbearing age. The prevalence of SLE in the United States is 15-50 per 100,000 people and in Indonesia is about 1 million cases of the 230 million population. SLE symptoms include malar rash, discoid rash, photosensitivity and the prognosis depends on which organs are involved, ranging from mild with only arthritis and skin issues to severe with serious conditions such as refractory thrombocytopenia or lung involvement.

    What is SLE ??

    Introduction
    Systemic Lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disease in which organ and cells undergo damage mediated by tissue binding autoantibody and immune complexes. Ninety percent of patients are woman of child bearing , people of both sexes, all ages and all ethnic groups are susceptible.

    Prevalence
    Prevalence of SLE in the United States is 15 50 per 100.000 . In Indonesia prevalence of SLE about 1 million in 230 million population.

    Prognosis SLE depends on organs involved - Mild : arthritis and skin manifestation - Moderate : mild until moderate nephritis - Severe : - Severe nephritis - Trombositopeni Refracter - Refracter Hemolytic Anemic - Lung involvement - NPSLE ( serebritis, mielitis) - Abdominal vasculitis
