This version of the Carpenters toolbox is constructed with rabbet joints and nails instead of box joints. In order to keep the overall dimensions the same, the ends of the box and the ends of the tray are slightly shorter on this version than on the box-jointed version. (Refer to the material list.) The nails we used are copper, rose-head boat nails from Lee Valley (1-800-871-8158). Because these nails are copper, they are rather soft and bend easily. So we found it necessary to drill holes for the nails before hammering them in place.
