    1997 and UP T-56 SIX SPEED MECHANICAL SPEEDOMETER KIT INSTRUCTIONS

    Slide drive gear onto output shaft, and push it forward until it stops against the reluctor gear.

    Open snap ring slightly, and slide over output shaft up to the drive gear. At the rear of the drive gear install snap ring into groove.

    This view shows drive gear against the reluctor gear, and snap ring against rear of drive gear, securing drive gear in the correct position.

    Apply a thin coat of recommended sealant to both tail housing and transmission.

    Position tail housing onto output shaft, and slide housing forward, being careful to align all shafts properly until tail housing rests against transmission.

    This view confirms drive gear is installed correctly as drive gear is centered in sleeve openings.

    Insert driven gear into sleeve as shown. Apply a thin coat of white lithiom grease to the oring before installing into the tail housing.

    Install driven gear into sleeve, then insert sleeve assembly into sleeve bushing. Apply a small amount of lithium grease on sleeve oring. Make sure slot on sleeve is toward the rear. This will allow retainer to fit properly.

    Push sleeve assembly into sleeve bushing using your thumb with slight pressure. Sleeve will snap into place.

    Install retainer into sleeve slot, align hole in retainer with threaded hole in bushing, and install Allen head bolt to secure retainer to bushing.

    Tighten Allen head bolt for finalization of speedometer attachment to tail housing.

    Apply a thin coat of sealer to both surfaces of the transmission body and tail housing and install bolts and tighten evenly using recommended factory torque specifications.

    Tighten bolts evenly. This completes installation of mechanical speedometer kit on the T-56.
