VLSM Subnetting Chart

This document outlines subnet addressing for the last octet using CIDR notation. It shows that with each increasing subnet mask (moving from /25 to /30), the number of available subnets increases while the number of hosts per subnet decreases. For example, a /25 subnet provides 1 subnet with 126 hosts each, while a /30 provides 63 subnets with only 2 hosts each, maximizing the number of available subnets at the cost of few hosts per subnet. The document uses the last octet to demonstrate how subnet masks partition the available addresses.
