Topics Discussed/Outcomes Meeting started and team members sign-in Last three units of inquiry are due December 7, 2012 McNeal states that she hates to keep pushing the dates back, but she trying to give everyone the opportunity to have the time needed to do a good assessment of the topics taught Team agrees they need the extra time The planning dates for the units with the written curriculum team are discussed, with th grades 2/3 meeting with WC team on Nov 15 and grade 4/5 meeting with the WC on th Nov. 14 Subs will be split for with a pair of teachers on the day they are to meet th Bulletin boards are due Nov. 16 Products relate to the current Transdiciplinary Theme Quality bulletin boards were discussed Next bulletin board should reflect the current unit of inquiry Please check bulletin board protocol to ensure a quality board with quality work is displayed Even after several discussions, currently there are still some boards without titles, rubrics, matting, misspelled words and grammatical errors. This needs to be fixed before the next bulletin board goes up Please try to avoid verbal reprimand from administration by following the outlined requirements Units: What working and what is not McNeal talked about the IB conference in LA that she and Jackson attended While there a huge discrepancy was noticed and clarified McNeal tells team not to worry, we will work with what we have so far During the visit, we will be sure to verbalize that the units need to be revised and are a constant work in progress The current units will need to be re-written next year are we hopefully move to reauthorization Team discusses concerns over the three back-to-back testing windows that were mandated by the district, with another one coming the week we return from Thanksgiving Break Wednesday Morning Meeting This will be the time to help prepare the students as a school for the IB visit Students will be prepared in the classroom with homeroom teacher on topic covered for the week Support teachers will conduct the meetings and will be broken down into three teams, K-1, 2-3, and 4-5 Teachers must accompany students and stay for the duration of the meeting. Not a 30 min planning time Support teachers will devise the materials needed as well as the content that will be distributed to the teachers so they can prepare the students for the assembly The Morning Meeting not a Pep rally The intention is not to get the students hyped up and send them back to class, which is why the the homeroom teachers presence is imperative to help maintain and control any disruptive behaviors that might occur We are preparing for the IB visit and this is our school wide initiative to help prepare all students, and all faculty and staff End of meeting
